Emilia Clarke responds to Qi’ra’s surprise Star Wars return and Game of Thrones prequel
Emilia Clarke is one of the most familiar faces from the vast cast of Game of Thrones. Though she is famous mostly for her role ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ on the show, she has played major characters in various projects over the past few years. Emilia portrayed Qi’ra in the Star Wars spinoff Solo: A Star Wars Story. Clarke has responded to the return of her Solo character to the Star Wars universe, admitting it “means so much”.
Taking place more than 10 years after the events of the 2018 movie, War of the Bounty Hunters #1 reveals that Qi’ra is still a pivotal player in the crime syndicate. After she abandoned Han to join them at the end of Solo.
Emilia told ComicBook.com, “It means the absolute world. I know her backstory. I know her history. Maybe the movie didn’t get to go there, but that was such an honour and a privilege to be part of that universe as an actor.”
“So then, to see the character actually be taken on to the origin of all of it – bringing it on home to the family in that way – cemented it in a way. I was not expecting to feel as moved as I was by that.”
Emilia also appeared to be highly excited about the Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. She said, “It’s just inevitable. I wish you all the best, it’s gonna be whatever it will be, but of course they’re doing more. You can’t create something that big and not have people go, ‘And? What else? This is really good! Let’s do loads more!’”

Game of Thrones was the biggest blockbuster show of the 21st century. It raised the bar for quality shows to unprecedented levels. However, as the series constantly reached new heights of success, other contemporary shows had to face the brunt of the competition. Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis admitted that Game of Thrones’ rising popularity was one of the reasons why Allison Argent, one of the main characters, was killed off on the show.
Premiering on MTV in 2011, the series was loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie of the same name. The series followed Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a teenaged werewolf who takes on the responsibility of protecting the town of Beacon Hills while also juggling the stresses of high school and family.
In the first three seasons of Teen Wolf, the romantic relationship between Scott and Allison (Crystal Reed) was a big part of the show’s focus. That’s why it came as a shock when, at the end of season 3, Allison was killed off. Although this occurred partly because Reed wanted to leave the series, Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis admits that other factors influenced Allison’s fate. Including, it seems, Game of Thrones.
Speaking with E! Online, he said, “I don’t know if I would’ve done it now, but back then, it was the time of Game of Thrones’ big death and it was all about which character could you kill off to shock the audience? There was a lot of pressure to kill a main character. I remember the network saying you have to kill someone off. And me being like, ‘I don’t want to kill anyone, they’re like my children!’”

Some stars have such an enigmatic aura, you’re left mesmerised by them even if it’s just an interview. They know how to make any job fun. Their presence simply lights up the mood and you feel like the movie, show or interview just keeps going on. Pedro Pascal is an example of such an actor, who was recently also named the sexiest man alive by People’s Magazine. Pedro has made a name for himself in the acting industry, being the charming personality he is. Be it The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman 84 or The Game of Thrones, it’s like everything he touches turns to gold. However, this time, he is the deliverer of some bad news for The Mandalorian fans. He recently revealed that the crew hasn’t even started filming yet for the third season.

Pedro Pascal talked to fellow Star Wars Icon Ewan McGregor as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series. “We haven’t shot a third season,” Pascal says when McGregor asks about production, but stops himself from saying anything further. “Let me tell you what’s going on,” he jokes.
Pascal had recently signed a new deal for multiple projects related to The Mandalorian. For now, Star Wars fan will have to be satisfied with the Boba Fett spinoff show coming out in December. Yes, it’s a long wait!

Actors often have to go to great lengths to breathe life into their characters. Nathalie Emmanuel joined the cast of Game of Thrones in the third season and had a couple of nude scenes throughout the series. Game of Thrones gained a reputation for excessive nudity, but Emmanuel’s few nude scenes were relevant to the plot. She revealed on the Make It Reign podcast with Josh Smith, just because she agreed to nudity on this show doesn’t mean she was up for it.
“When I did Game of Thrones, I agreed towards certain nude scenes or nudity within the show,” Emmanuel said. “And the perception from other projects, when the role required nudity, that I was just open to doing anything because I did it on that one show. But what people didn’t realize is I agreed to terms and specific things for that one particular project, and that doesn’t necessarily apply to all projects.”
She continued, “That’s fine if you require that in the part. I don’t feel comfortable doing that level of nudity. I will do this amount, you know, I can do this, which I think is necessary for the part.”
Frankly, if someone was like, “Well we need this nudity,’ I would be like, ‘Well, thank you very much, I appreciate your interest but that’s just not what I feel is necessary for this part and it’s a difference of opinion and creative difference and that’s fine.”
Nathalie had earlier slammed predatory behaviour by men in a series of posts on her Twitter account. What do you think about Nathalie’s statement? Tell us in the comments below!
