Game of Thrones has had a lot good on screen pairings through the run of the show, but there have also been a few ships that never became pairs. One of them was Tormund and Brienne, the subject of many a memes, but sadly we didn’t see enough of it on the show. Kristofer Hivju, however, is all for a Tormund-Brienne spin-off. Read on!
Hivju, who played Tormund, was recently at the UK disc set release event in London, and did a Q&A session, reports Fandom. When asked what he thinks about a Tormund-Brienne spin-off, he replied:
“I’m up for it.”
He added that he would like it to be a rom-com set at Castle Black, with the pair:
“…trying to run it together; it’s 19 minutes per episode.”
He’s clearly thought it through. Now that he’s said it, it honestly wouldn’t be the worst thing to follow up the timeline of the show. He then talked about how Khal Drogo was his favourite character:
“[My favourite scene] was Jason Momoa’s speech in the tent before he kills Daenerys’s brother. He’s just ranting and he’s going all the way.”
Well, we would definitely love that spin-off, and we bet it would fly well with the fans. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
Our universe badly needs a superhero right now. With the Coronavirus spreading its wings we could have done with an actual superhero or two. However, as doctors around the world do their best as our actual saviors, let’s shift our focus briefly to our virtual superheroes. Speaking of, we can all agree that Deadpool is unarguably the most different of them all and as a result, it has piqued the interest of a certain Queen. Read on to find out more!
Its been a year since Game of Thrones ended its run and with that came the end of the reign of a decade for Lena Headey as Queen Cersei Lannister. The manner in which it came to halt is still being discussed in the aisles of various forums, with Headey herself making her displeasure known to the world.
She had then said:
“I invested as a viewer and I have my favorite characters. And I’ve got a few of my own gripes. But I haven’t sat down drunkenly with David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] yet.”
Before signing off with:
“I will say I wanted a better death.”
Well, be that as it may, Headey seems to have moved on and even has her eyes set on her dream role!
Speaking with HeroicHollywood recently, she said she loves the character of Deadpool and would love to play it. She also realizes that it has been taken but come on that shouldn’t stop her from dreaming. Universe has acted in stranger ways before. She said:
“Well, I’d love to play Deadpool. Obvs. Anyway, that’s been taken.”
While we absolutely love Ryan Reynolds’ version of Deadpool, that franchise can definitely accommodate Headey in some way or the other. Right?

Natalie Dormer a.k.a. Margaery Tyrell of Game of Thrones is on a roll these days. After getting the rave reviews for her recently released Penny Dreadful: City of Angels she is riding high on success. After the premiere of her new show, she got some time to reflect on her journey so far and we are excited to bring those reflections to you. Read on to find out more!
Dormer recently spoke to Variety and talked candidly about her journey in Game of Thrones. In many ways, Game of Thrones was the gamechanger for Dormer and she was aware of it. She was in the series for five seasons and showcased her talent. Speaking about her infamous death she said:
“I was ever so grateful that I was with Jonathan [Pryce who played the High Sparrow]. To have such a partner for my last scene was really a gift.”
She was also very understanding of the kind of challenge the showrunners had on their hands. She said:
“But I think Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff] had an almost impossible task in wrapping up the show. And by the very nature of the sheer quantity of storylines and characters, they had to start wrapping up around Season 6, which they did with the Tyrells and other beloved characters. It was almost going to be the impossible task, I think, regardless of what they had done, to satisfy the third act for everyone in the time that they had.”
She also reflected fondly on her journey and had no complaints at all from the makers. She believed that she was in the show for the perfect duration and it was her golden ticket.
“I got the golden ticket, the perfect length of time. I watched Season 1 as a fan, came in the second season, did a good solid five years just as the show had this incredible explosion, and then I got out in time to watch the end and sit on the couch again.”
Well, Dormer didn’t let her guard down at all after the success of Thrones. Recently she took her fans through behind the scenes video of Penny Dreadful and it was amazing to see the effort.
Well, if you have watched the show, let us know your reviews in the comments below!
As soon as it began, Game of Thrones started creating a name for itself. In a very short time, it had gained massive popularity; which then kept rising with each season. And although fans stand divided over the last season, it would be safe to say the HBO show still ranks high in their recommendations. But in the early stages, if one hadn’t watched it before, they might just have passed saying it sounds too loaded. That’s what happened with Game of Thrones star Gemma Whelan, who played the fearless Yara Greyjoy on the show. Talking to Metro, Gemma revealed that she didn’t think she would like Game of Thrones; this was before she had joined the cast. Read on to find out more.
While discussing her pick of the TV shows, Gemma was asked about a show that she did not expect to like in the first place. “I guess Game of Thrones!” she answered. But, things changed quickly once she sat down to watch. “I thought ‘Oh God, what’s this medieval, dragons thing? Oh dear, I don’t know about this’…Then, just as I’ve said to you, I just watched the whole series in one night, the first series (season)…because it’s so much more than what people think it might be,” she said.
We know GoT is not an easy show. It rallies the viewer headlong into drama and action, with emotions flying all around. Every season punched us somewhere we loved but also somewhere it hurt a lot. With perhaps the most talked-about final season ever, the whole experience of the show was indeed bittersweet. And withs swords, kingdoms, and ancient knights, it might be too much for the uninitiated. But once you’re in, you are in it for the long haul. The intriguing drama unfolds at a rapid pace and keeps you engaged in those binge treats.
That’s what happened with Gemma. According to her, the last thing she binge-watched in one sitting was the first season of Game of Thrones. “I watched all of season one in one go. In order, I thought I’d just watch a little bit for my audition but I just was completely hooked immediately”; she said. The next thing that came close to GoT was Succession (another HBO show), which she finished in “two or three sittings”. The series that she just finished is Ozark’s third season, and she feels it was “brilliant”. Tiger King is what she hopes to start next. We also hope that she has watched all the eight seasons of GoT now; as she had admitted last year that she hasn’t watched a lot of it, including the ending.
Gemma Whelan is currently starring in Killing Eve’s third season as Geraldine, Carolyn Martens’ (Fiona Shaw) daughter. The third season started airing on BBC America from April 12, 2020.
