George R. R. Martin says the first Game of Thrones prequel series will air by 2019-20!

Game of Thrones is a show dear to millions of people, and over the years it has grown to become a cultural phenomenon. There is no doubt that the show will leave a giant hole in our life as it finishes with Season 8. Season 8 has been said to air in the later part of 2018 or maybe 2019, and fans have already been counting the days down, while trying to deal with the fact that the show is ending. However HBO is already developing five spinoff ideas for prequel shows to follow Game of Thrones.

As we recently reported, the details of the fifth prequel show were revealed, and it will be helmed by none other than Bryan Cogman, who is a writer and producer on Game of Thrones, and has written some of the show’s best episodes.Author and creator of Game of Thrones, Geroge R. R. Martin recently took to Facebook to talk about this spinoff idea, and the others, and he said that the first prequel show might hit the screens in 2019 or 2020 itself. Read on!

Geroge talked about how he is excited about the prequel ideas, and especially Bryan Cogman’s, because of his work on Game of Thrones, and how Cogman knows the Game of Thrones universe very well. Read the post below :

Now, George says that the idea that Cogman is working on will excite the fans, and that it is set during a very exciting time in the history of Westeros. He also revealed that he is working closely with Cogman, and is on board as a co-creator. He didn’t give too many details, but our guesses are somewhere around the Doom of Valyria and the golden days of the Targaryens. George also said that out of the five ideas, two or three might reach the pilot stage, and that his estimate is that the first prequel show will be upon us in 2019 or 2020.

“And then there were five… GAME OF THRONES successor shows, that is.
Truth be told, we’ve had five scripts in various stages of development for months. Which I believe I mentioned…
But now at last all the deals are signed, and it can be told. BRYAN COGMAN has come on board to pen the fifth of the successor shows. James Hibberd broke the news on ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

Bryan Cogman should need no introduction for any GAME OF THRONES fan. He’s been part of the show since the beginning… since before the beginning, actually, since he was first hired as assistant to David Benioff and D.B Weiss way before the series got on the air, before even the pilot had been filmed. From those humble beginnings, he advanced to staff writer, to story editor, to co-producer and producer and supervising producer. Less formally, he has also been GOT’s “Keeper of the Lore,” the guy who knew the canon better than anyone (except me, though sometimes I am not even sure of that). He’s written more episodes of GAME OF THRONES than anyone but Dan & David… including some of our very best ones. If D&D have been the kings of Westeros for these past seven seasons, Bryan Cogman has surely been the Prince of Dragonstone.

I’d love to tell you more about the series Bryan will be working on… but we haven’t done that for the other four successor shows, so we shouldn’t for this one either. All in good time.
I can say that, like the other pilots, it will be a prequel rather than sequel, a successor rather than a spinoff. Bryan’s series will be an adaptation, and one that will thrill most fans of the books, I think, set during a very exciting period of Westerosi history. And I’ll be working with him every step of the way; we’re going to be co-creating the show.
Meanwhile, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, Max Borenstein, and Carly Wray are all at work on the other four successor shows. I’ve been working with them as well (some more closely than others), and I’m excited by some of the ideas they’re coming up with. HBO should have a wealth of material to choose from. (And that’s not even counting the four weird-ass series concepts I’ve come up on my own, just for the hell of it. There are eight million stories in the naked city, and maybe ten times as many in Westeros and the lands beyond the narrow seas).

You should not expect to see all five shows, though, at least not immediately.. much as I might love the idea, HBO is not about to become the GAME OF THRONES network… but we could possibly see two or even three make it to the pilot stage, with one series emerging on air in 2019 or 2020… and the others maybe later, if they come out as well as we all hope. Then again, maybe… but I should not speculate, you folks get WAY too excited. Truth is, no one knows. Least of all me.
For now, suffice it to say that Bryan Cogman has signed on, and we’re thrilled.”

He ended the post saying he shouldn’t speculate because the fans get too excited. He wasn’t wrong, we are indeed, excited! What about you? Which idea do you think is Cogman developing? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Every cloud has a silver lining. Even though the year 2020 has been full of tragedies and losses, there is some good news. Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are getting ready to welcome their first child.

The couple officially announced it back in September this year. It seems like they are getting ready to welcome the new family member. They were spotted on Thursday in England while loading some stuff into their Land Rover Defender.

Leslie stood to the side with the couple’s sweet dog. Kit did the heavy lifting, placing carrier bags and black bags into the back of the car.

Rose sported a casual outfit and a stylish hat. She looked amazing with her baby bump on view. She held the pair’s pet Whippet’s lead in one hand and handed bags to Kit with the other.

Rose first showed off her baby bump earlier this year in stunning photos for Make Magazine. She explained that the pair of them have moved home to England ahead of having their baby.

What a glorious thing to be able to run to the countryside and recoup,” she said. “It’s a great privilege to be surrounded by greenery, birdsong and hedgerows, and our delightful neighbours. It’s so peaceful.”

Kit and Rose are setting some serious relationship goals. Shower the cute family with your best wishes in the comments below!

Failures are the stepping stones to success. Game of Thrones became the huge and thriving franchise it is today after repeated efforts of the cast and crew despite facing huge setbacks. The popular TV show hit a major roadblock at the beginning of its filming. The original pilot episode of the series turned out to be a $10 million disaster and had to be re-filmed with a lot of changes. One of those changes also removed George R.R. Martin’s cameo scene.

Martin was supposed to appear as a Pentoshi magister at Khal Drogo and Daenerys’ wedding scene. He shared a picture of him in costume, along with co-star Ian McNeice. McNeice is dressed as Illyrio Mopatis, another magister of Pentos. They were shooting in Morocco.

Here’s another peek at the past, and the original pilot for GoT. We shot the wedding of Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo in Morocco.   Ian McNeice played Illyrio Mopatis, and I played one of the wedding guests, presumably another magister. #TBT https://t.co/2BiGflKIIO pic.twitter.com/ItkUw75uvV

The Game of Thrones writer shared the picture on his Twitter and personal website, Not a Blog. Fans loved the snap, some even described them as medieval Santas.

More can be found out about the show’s unaired pilot in Entertainment Weekly editor James Hibberd’s book Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon. The book contains detailed information about various interviews with the show’s cast and crew. It delves into the secret behind-the-scene mysteries and brings them to the limelight.

Though the original pilot was absolutely bonkers and had to be re-shot, it lost a few fun elements. Like George R.R. Martin’s cameo, and even Ian McNeice was replaced. What do you think about the unaired pilot? Tell us in the comments below!
