Liam Cunningham talks about Davos' confrontation with Melisandre in Game of Thrones season 6 finale

Liam Cunningham‘s portrayal of Ser Davos Seaworth on Game of Thrones has made him quite the popular actor, and he’s earned it based on his stellar performance of the character. Cunningham’s unmistakable accent and near-perfect portrayal of one of the many complex characters of Game of Thrones has created a very memorable image in the minds of the viewers. Just like many other actors on the show who became popular owing to the immense popularity of it, Cunningham is also one of those who gained recognition post Game of Thrones. He spoke about the show and how it has impacted him as a person, during a conversation with Irish media site Goss.

Discussing the popularity of the show, he said, “I knew it was going to be good but I’d no idea it was going to be so huge, but I don’t believe anybody knew. When I read the first episode I knew this was gold. It was such a magnificent, mad anarchic story. When you compress my career down it looks like not many years, but I was an overnight success after 27 years.”

He then spoke about how he has worked with many famous directors, but gained this much popularity only after Game of Thrones.

“I’ve worked with Spielberg and all sorts of people, but I can still disappear off the radar for a while, and people forget about me, and I kind of like that,” he said. “But Game of Thrones has changed that because now everyone knows who I am; I’ve been outed so to speak. My ego is too big anyway, I don’t need to be famous because I know how wonderful I am!”

Cunningham’s character, Ser Davos, has managed to stand out despite the number of easily popular characters on Game of Thrones, and we hope to see a lot more of him in the next season!

Deleted scene from Game of Thrones Season 8 shows another brutal character death

Game of Thrones deleted scenes have been pouring out on the internet, now that the full series disc sets are here. We have reported about a couple of them, including one that showed Daenerys get the northern hate. The one we have today, comes from IGN, and it shows a death scene that was skipped from the episode, likely because the character isn’t considered that important. Read on!

Now, the character we’re talking about here is Alys Karstark, and the episode in question is Season 8, Episode 3, “The Long Night”. This deleted scene shows Alys meet her end while trying to protect Bran Stark in the Godswood. Check it out:

Well, it looks like Theon Greyjoy wasn’t the only guy that lost his life trying to look out for Bran Stark, and Alys deserves at least some credit for being one of the many to buy enough time for Arya Stark to swoop in and save the day.

This could’ve easily been kept in the episode. I mean, it’s game of Thrones, and it’s the most important big battle of the show. Surely one more death couldn’t have hurt.

Sophie Turner discusses her final Game of Thrones scene as Sansa Stark

Game of Thrones deleted scenes and special feature types are flying all over the Internet, now that HBO has released the full series disc sets of the show. We have been reporting about many of these, and this one involves Sophie Turner discuss her final scene on the show as Sansa Stark. Read on!

The video was posted to Twitter, and it shows Sophie, dressed as Sansa, discuss her final scene on the show. Take a gander:

Sophie said:

“I think it was just so overwhelming, and I kind of kept reading and re-reading, and I felt a bit numb afterwards because I never thought I would be reading the final scene.”

Now, knowing Game of Thrones, there was always a risk that a major character could just drop dead, and Sophie feared this for Sansa as well. However, as we now know, she made it to the end, and she did really well. Speaking of that, Sophie said:

“It’s very gratifying. It’s great that she ends up being Queen in the North, and I think it’s the place where she really feels like she belongs. And I think it’s a really just, happy, good ending for her, which I was never expecting.”

Well, we know that was one character ending that we absolutely loved. What about you guys? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Daenerys gets the northern hate in deleted scene from Game of Thrones Season 8

Game of Thrones series disc sets are here, and we have seen deleted scenes from the show flood the internet as a result of that. Among these, was one showed Daenerys and Jon walk through Winterfell. Read on!

This scene fits into the timeline at the point when Winterfell is preparing for the battle. Jon and Daenerys take a walk through, looking at the preparations, and Daenerys gets some hateful looks from the Northeners. Check it out:

This actually would have fit well in the preparation sequence, and added to the overall unwelcomeness that we saw Daenerys get in the north in Season 8. It wasn’t necessary though, and probably why it was left out. We also saw Daenerys’ unsullied stop for her, but we didn’t really need to be reminded of their loyalty, making the scene even less required.

That being said, they could have just left it in. Not like we would complain about too much of Game of Thrones, right?
