Jon Snow and Ygritte were a memorable and fun-loving couple on Game of Thrones. The free-minded wildling (Ygritte) taught a lot of things about life to the then watcher of the wall (Jon). Ygritte’s famous line for Snow- ‘You know nothing Jon Snow‘ became a catchphrase amongst the fans. It seems they are just as fun-loving in real life.

In an interview with the New York Post, Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte in the show, revealed how she once shaved Kit Harington’s (Jon Snow) head. She explained, “[Kit] was like, ‘Can you do the back, because I can’t see it with the mirror?’”

And I was so engrossed with my girlfriend, we were having such a lovely time, and I was like, ‘Yeah yeah yeah, fine, whatever.'”

Rose, who is right-handed, recalled that she had her phone in her right hand at the time, adding, “I took the shears in my left hand, and… I dug too deep. I dug too deep! It was rather hilarious, but also awful. Fortunately, he looks great with a semi-shaved head, so it was fine.”

The reel life couple turned into real-life couple back in 2018 when they tied the knot in Scotland. The star-studded wedding created quite a buzz in the Game of Thrones community. The couple has been happily married ever since.

Game of Thrones' Iain Glenn turns to cycling's dark side in The Racer

It is always fun to see our favourite actors play out radically different roles. Iain Glenn, who played the honourable and heroic Ser Jorah Mormont, was seen playing a not-so-heroic role in The Racer.

Directed by Kieron J Walsh, the movie circles around a series of scandals that took place at the 1998 Tour de France. The film was the opening film for the Cork International Film Festival. Though fictional, The Racer shows the dangerous lengths teams will go to for a competitive edge. Iain Glen plays the team’s Mr Fixit with the syringes and vials.

Iain Glenn talked to the Irish Examiner about the movie, “I studied documentaries and a couple of films just to get to know the world it occupied. What drew me to the script was it didn’t hold back its punches. I thought it was a very frank and honest, quite a wry, insightful look at a particularly bad period for drug abuse within the sport.”

He continued, “That tour became known as the Tour de Drugs because of the amount of drugs that were going down at the time. The people within the team and my character, certainly within the context of the film, didn’t have any great qualms about it – everyone was doing it and we were doing it as well. That was the norm. It’s ironic to think that (Lance) Armstrong was about to enjoy his great stretch as being the world-leading cyclist and he won so many tours in a row and this was prior to that. During Armstrong’s time, everyone thought the sport had got its act together a bit more.”

Earlier, Kit Harington was seen playing a shady role in Criminals Season 2. What do you think about the movie? Tell us in the comments below!

The year 2020 proved to be a Red Wedding for people all around the world. Earth lost some of it’s brightest stars in the past year, including Game of ThronesDiana Rigg.

Diana Rigg, famous for her role Olenna Tyrell, was a revered figure in the entertainment industry. She was a force to reckon with. Her dominating presence brought directors to their knees. She delivered such a fabulous performance, the audience was left speechless.

Olenna Tyrell

Rigg was exceptional as the Queen of Thorns. The veteran actress was also famous for being witty and fun-loving on set. In James Hibberd’s book Fire Cannot Kill A Dragon, producer and writer Dave Hill recalls working with Rigg. Rigg was visiting the brothel owned by Littlefinger, played by Aidan Gillen.

We were preparing for a scene where Olenna meets Littlefinger at the brothel,” Hill said. “And Dame Diana Rigg looked around and went, ‘Shouldn’t there be more sex toys? Shouldn’t there be sheepskin condoms scattered about?’

I’m all, ‘You’re absolutely correct, Dame Diana!’ We appreciated her knowledge of ancient sexual devices.”

The highly talented actress was also a motherly figure to the cast and crew. They remembered her on social media when she passed away. Talk to us in the comments below, and tell us how you miss the revered actress!

Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Indira Varma talk about theatre experience with Vogue

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”- A Shakespearean phrase perfectly sums up the world as a theatre. Game of Thrones stars, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), shared their theatre experience with Vogue.

Vogue presented the Game of Thrones alums with a host of questions. Here’s how they responded:

Vogue: What do you love the most about        theatre?

Emilia: Oh my goodness! What I love most about going to the theatre… Never thought about it before, it’s the most beautiful experience.

Indira: It’s escape isn’t it?

Vogue: What is your most memorable moment in a theatre?

Emilia: I was doing Holly GoLightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and there was a stupid scene. I was in a bath and this one particular night I’m butt-naked, slippery from being in the bath. I’m running and I just psssssh (making slipping and landing on butt gesture with hands). I was feeling like I had broken something and then the guys in the flies just being like- “Oh! You alright sweetie?”

Indira: I mean my very first performance. When I was 5 at school and I was angel Gabriel.

Vogue: What is your top tip for learning lines?

Emilia: When I’m just by myself I do it to my cooker, my oven or I record myself or just badger friends.

Indira: My top tip for learning lines… (f*****g hate learning lines) I mean like I need tips myself. I think it’s about repetition.

Vogue: Sum up performing in theatre in 3 words.

Emilia: Um raw, electric and home.

Indira: One word is never enough is it, um journalized, communication, fear.

Both the stars have earlier worked together in the theatre. Tell us what you think of theatre in the comments below!
