Game of Thrones star Joe Dempsie thinks Arya and Gendry never would have worked

Game of Thrones ended more than a year ago. The last season was shocking as well as controversial for many reasons for fans worldwide. One of them is the completely unexpected love-making scene involving Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and Arya (Maisie Williams) right before the Long Night.

Joe Dempsie, who played Gendry Baratheon on the show, talked to Digital Spy on how he felt about the controversial fling. “I think Gendry just lost his head a bit, didn’t he?” reflected Dempsie, “He’s so drunk on legitimacy and popped the question!

He continued, “I think I’ve always thought that, actually, as wounded as he might have been in the aftermath, as soon as Gendry has time to sit down and think properly about it and rationalise everything, it’ll be pretty clear to him that probably the very reason he loved Arya was the exact reason she could never be with him.”

Dempsie’s deduction is in agreement with the faction of the fans who found Arya and Gendry to be an odd pair. The intimate scene was distasteful and shocking for some, though others had no issue as they were waiting for the impending battle in the next episode.

Joe explains further, “I know that Gendry’s not often been the brightest or the sharpest tool in the drawer, but I think he’s smart enough to know,” he said. “I think he’s perceptive enough to know that. It never would have worked.”

Dempsie is currently starring in Channel-4 drama Adult Material. How do you feel about the love-making scene? Let us know in the comments below!

Game of Thrones’ Iain Glenn revealed how he got into acting

Most of the celebrities we see on the big screen started from humble beginnings. Some of the Game of Thrones stars joined the series young. They sort of grew up with the series like Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). Others joined the show when they were already famous. Like the Scottish actor Iain Glenn, who played the heroic knight Ser Jorah Mormont.

Iain didn’t initially consider acting as a career. He was kind of forced into it by his friends while studying at Aberdeen University. Glenn talked to the Irish Examiner about his humble beginnings.

Game of Thrones’ Iain Glenn revealed how he got into acting

It was there that friends of mine got involved and I was slightly dragged against my will into it. I had no idea what actors were and that you could earn a living for what they did.”

He continued, “I felt that I could occupy that space in my imagination where I believe the world in which I was standing in and seemed to be able to project that in a small way. I just got really addicted very quickly for that feeling. I bumped into it very accidentally, I had no great desire, I didn’t even know what it was until I was 18, really.”

Iain Glenn is one of the best Scottish actors currently in the entertainment industry. What do you think of his story? Tell us in the comments below!

Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is done talking about the show

Sometimes a show becomes so popular, it often hides other accomplishments of its cast. The show becomes their identity, people often recognize them by their character from the show. Game of Thrones is an example of such a franchise. The fantasy series became the biggest show of the past decade, both in terms of its budget and viewership. However, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime Lannister on the show, is done talking about it.

In a recent interview with the Independent, Waldau revealed he wanted fans to recognize his other works too. He said, “Over those eight seasons, I did two films every year more or less. But obviously, the success of the show, which is so enormous, makes however big those other successes are pale in comparison. I worked more weeks on other shows than Game of Thrones. In my world, those other jobs took up much more space than Jaime Lannister did.”

One such job was the small-town thriller The Silencing, released earlier this year. “The script had been around for a couple of years,” he said. “I just liked the basic story of a guy who’s a drunk and then loses his daughter. Normally, in a story, that’s when the change would happen, but it doesn’t. I thought that was interesting.”

Pedro Pascal was wooed by Baby Yoda's charms on the Mandalorian

An actor needs to interact with the camera, co-stars and objects on the set to make the most out of their performance. There are times when they get attached to a prop on-set. It becomes a part of their character and memories connected to their performance on the show. Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner brought the prop used as the Winterfell throne to her home. Another Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal is very fond of a prop from a set (not from Game of Thrones, though).

Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian has managed to steal the show from the series’ main star, Pedro himself. Although, Pedro doesn’t seem to complain. In fact, the actor himself seems to have fallen in love with the charms of Baby Yoda.

In PEOPLE’s latest issue, Pascal revealed he was ‘immediately convinced’ to join the series after seeing Baby Yoda’s concept art. He often ended up ‘cooing a little bit’ on set with the puppet.

“I’d then have conversations in the same way that we did when we were kids with our own little toys,” Pascal said. “It has everything to do with the amount of work that these people have put into it, because it’s a very, very special creation, and it feels as such when you see it in person.”
