Game of Thrones fans Google-bomb showrunners as revenge for bad writing for Season 8

Game of Thrones has an obsessive fandom, and it’s no surprise, given that we have been at this for nearly a decade. Season 8 has been poorly received by the fandom and the writers/showrunners for the show, David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been taking most of the flak. With the latest episode rating dropping to a record low for the show, the fans are so angry with the writers, that they have started Google bombing the showrunners as a form of revenge. Read on!

Well, to explain Google bombing, the fans are basically getting posts portraying the showrunners in bad light listed high on Google, by popularising them. This has been mostly going on through Reddit, where the fans ask other fans to upvote posts so they appear in Google search, and Google News and the responses to these kinds of posts have also been roaring. Check them out:

Bad Writers. Upvote this post so its the first result when you google “Bad writers.” from freefolk

Dickheads. Upvote this so that people see it when they Google "dickheads". from freefolk

David Benioff . Upvote this so it’s the first result when you search the name . from freefolk

Dumb and Dumber. Upvote this so that people see it when they Google "Dumb and Dumber." from freefolk

That’s not all, fans are going as far as to petition HBO to remake the end of Game of Thrones. What do you think? Do David and Dan deserve the hate they have been getting? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

We have launched the Wiki Of Thrones app, which allows Game Of Thrones fans to read news, chat with other fans and also scroll through memes in a single place, with more features that will be released in the coming days. It’s still in beta and is currently live only on Android as we are waiting for Apple to approve it. Please support us by installing the app and do share it with your friends.

I honestly don’t blame them, GRRM should have at least written a summarized script if not the book then they direct from there. GRRM could have at least seen the scripts and not just the ending. I think he dissociated himself after the 6th season when his insights were needed. Fact remains the original creator is GRRM while the director are D & D and they both cannot do each others work.

Game of Thrones complete series Blu-ray set is here in time for the holidays!

It’s that time of the year, and HBO has a little something for those of us that still love Game of Thrones enough. Nearly half a year after the end of the show, HBO is now bringing the whole series out on Blu-ray, just in time for the holidays. Read on!

You might remember the frenzy that everybody entered a couple of days ago when the official Game of Thrones Twitter account tweeted out “Winter is Coming”, but it turns out that this was just a warning that millions of Game of Thrones fans can now get their hearts broken, again, from the comfort of their homes. Check the announcement tweet, below:

This marks the arrival of the complete series on optical disks, with a total of three sets — a normal Blu-ray set, a DVD set, and a collector’s edition Blu-ray set. The normal Blu-ray is priced at $199.99, the DVD set at $169.99, and the collector’s edition at $249.95. For now, the sets are open for preorders, and you can find the links to your preferred retailer, here. The sets will be available on the 3rd of December.

The one issue seems to be that these are not 4K HDR Blu-ray prints, which isn’t really acceptable in 2019. So far, only Season 1 has gotten the 4K HDR treatment, and there is no clue about when we might get to see a 4K HDR Blu-ray set.

So, planning on getting the Game of Thrones disc sets as a gift? Let us know in the comments, down below. Happy holiday season!

Diageo launches its last Game of Thrones single malt whiskey

Game of Thrones-themed liquor is quite a popular merchandise for the franchise, and now that the show is over, we’re seeing the last batches of new collections come out. The latest to join the lineup comes from Diageo, and it’s a single malt whiskey. Read on!

This limited edition whiskey is called Six Kingdoms, and it is a Mortlach Single Malt Scotch Whisky, aged 15 Years. It has been matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned casks and finished in American Oak ex-bourbon casks. The whiskey is a tribute to the fate of the Seven Kingdoms that become six at the end of the series, reports The Drinks Business.

This is actually the ninth and the last whiskey in the collection. The first eight were a part of the Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whiskey Collection, which was as released at the beginning of 2019. Diageo also owns Johnnie Walker, a brand that has also launched multiple Thrones-themed whiskeys.

Kavita Agarwal, global brand director for Diageo commented on this merchandising partnership that has helped them boost sales:

“[There was an] overwhelmingly positive response to the launch of the Game of Thrones Limited Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection and as Game of Thrones fans continue to explore both the world of whisky and the world of Westeros, we are proud to introduce the final addition to the collection.

Mortlach is one of our most sought-after super premium single malts, and seemed fitting as the perfect finale to complete the collection.”

The Whiskey is expected to be priced at £120 for a 700ml bottle, and will be available with certain retailers and on Amazon, before Christmas. Perfect holiday gift for a Game of Thrones fan, don’t you think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Inside sources reveal Game of Thrones showrunners quit Star Wars over “divided attention and toxic fandom”

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are having a tough week, to say the least. First, we saw their trainwreck of an panel interview at the Austin Film Festival. Following that, we heard that the two had left their upcoming Star Wars trilogy project. Now, a new report now says that there might be more to why the two aren’t going to be involved with that project anymore. Read on!

David Benioff and Dan Weiss recently announced that they’re stepping away from the Star Wars trilogy that they were going to be writing and producing, citing their commitment to Netflix and the lack of time to do justice to both projects as the reason. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has published a report about an inside source revealing why the two left the project.

Apparently, Kathleen Kennedy, the head of Lucasfilm, was not too happy with David and Dan for signing a deal with Netflix. The pair had previously said that they will not start work on Star Wars until they were done with Game of Thrones, and immediately after they were, in August, they signed the Netflix deal. The source claims their exit from the Star Wars project was in the cards since August.

Kennedy was apparently not convinced that the two could juggle Star Wars, and Netflix, especially because they are known for doing only one project at a time. David and Dan also had concerns over this, and didn’t want to deal with a “toxic fandom.” The source also noted that Netflix learned of this development only a few days before the duo announced it.

This is also a new move in the latest streaming wars which Netflix currently seems to have the lead in, with Disney joining in soon with Disney+.
