These two scenes from Game of Thrones 6 finale depict a grave future for Sansa Stark

Published

on

Sansa Stark is a woman who rose from amidst the ashes of torture and pain, something that most people her age wouldn’t be able to accomplish. She’s seen all kinds of torment, be it back in King’s Landing at the hands of Joffrey Baratheon or that with Ramsay Bolton at Winterfell. Her journey from Winterfell to King’s Landing and back home wasn’t one that promised a marvellous future, and now that she’s faced her share of agony, Sansa is a mature, strong woman who knows how the mind of someone like Ramsay works. She knows politics, she knows the tricks people play to gain power, and she knows how to bring a strong army on her side when it comes to winning back her home.

For all intents and purposes, Sansa was the one who saved the day when Jon’s army was losing against that of Ramsay’s, and when she arrived with the knights of the Vale through her conflicted relationship with Petyr Baelish, she proved her prowess. Sansa Stark is no longer a timid girl looking to become the queen of the Seven Kingdoms with a pretty king by her side. All she wants is her home and family. Her relationship with Jon Snow was never a cause of concern before, but since season 6 when we saw her re-uniting with him at the Wall, an unlikely bond developed between them, based on which, the two now have somewhat of a complicated relationship.

She trusts him but doesn’t at the same time, knowing that she was brought up with him, seeing him as Ned Stark’s illegitimate son. There is a little part of her that holds her back from trusting him, and as we saw in the latest episode, Winds of Winter, Jon sees her as a young girl whom he wants to protect, in the scene when they talk about the arrival of Winter. But despite Sansa having proven that she was no longer someone who needed protection from a bigger man, Jon didn’t quite take it. And whether or not Sansa accepts it openly, it does bother her a bit. She’s frustrated inside knowing the fact that she was the one who eventually brought Jon back home, and got next to no credit for it. To top that, we saw Littlefinger trying to get into her head by reminding her that she was the Lady of Winterfell, being the true born daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark, and that Winterfell should not rally behind a bastard.

In the other scene we saw that Sansa might have refused the offer of being by Littlefinger’s side if he took the Iron Throne, but it was also clear towards the end that she wouldn’t be able to live under Jon’s shadow as King in the North. Littlefinger and Sansa share an intense look when the people are busy cheering for Jon, and it seemed just for a moment that she might have considered gaining that much power through Littlefinger’s aid. Though we don’t see her blatantly agreeing to it, there might be a part of her wanting that.

These two scenes, lead to an ominous future, which suggests that Sansa might end up betraying Jon in the end if she is continued to be treated like a child who hasn’t had much experience in the world, when in reality, she’s seen more of the ways of politics and power-play than Jon has done during his time at the Wall. He might have fought valiant battles, but Sansa is just as skilled in knowing whom to trust and whom not to when it comes to making alliances and gaining power.

Let’s hope Sansa isn’t too overshadowed by Jon to end up taking drastic measures in the future, and that Littlefinger doesn’t manage to get into her head like he’s done before.

Balerion, The Black Dread, might not show up in House of The Dragon

Balerion, The Black Dread, might not show up in House of The Dragon

HBO just dropped the teaser trailer for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon, and it broke the internet as soon as it was released. The highly anticipated prequel series has been HBO’s top priority for quite some time, and judging by the reaction of the fans that the teaser received, we can assume that they were right to do so. Though we witnessed several details about the upcoming show from the teaser, and of course the recent leaks, we didn’t get much information about the dragons, hardly any at all. But the teaser did give a slight hint about a certain dragon, Aegon The Conqueror’s famous ride Balerion the Black Dread might not be there in the series.

Balerion, The Black Dread, might not show up in House of The Dragon

In the teaser, we captured a quick glance at what appears to be a dragon skull. Judging by the size of the skull, and the thousands of lit candles in front of it, we can assume it is the skull of Balerion, who was dead by the time of Dance of the Dragons in Fire and Blood novel.

The size of the skull is comparable, if not slightly bigger than the skull we have seen in Game of Thrones, stored in the Red Keep. Another fact that points towards Balerion’s absence is that HBO recently changed the description of House of The Dragon on their official website. Instead of the earlier synopsis that said the timeline of the show being set 300 years prior to Game of Thrones, it has now been changed to 200 years. Balerion died in 94 AC, when Viserys I Targaryen was still young and hadn’t ascended to the throne. Hence it is very unlikely the dreadful beast will make an appearance, given that the series mainly focuses on the civil war that began after Viserys’ death.

New House of The Dragon leaks might be showing the first look at Daemon Targaryen’s first wife

Published

Rhaenyra Targaryen

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving fast with its production, and we can expect a spring release in 2022. Most of the main characters have been cast, and HBO has officially declared who’s playing who in the much-awaited prequel. With set pictures leaking quite often on the internet, the fans are getting a glimpse of more cast members in action. Recently, another rather unknown member of the House of The Dragon cast came into the limelight, via a leaked picture from the Aldershot set posted by Portal House of The Dragon Brasil.

One of the most common theories about the cast member in question is that she’s playing Prince Daemon Targaryen’s first wife Rhea Royce. This is how the character’s wiki describes her:

In 97 AC, Queen Alysanne Targaryen wed her grandson, Prince Daemon Targaryen, to Lady Rhea Royce, the heir to Runestone. Although the marriage was a fine, rich match, the marriage was not a success. Daemon found the Vale of Arryn little to his liking and grew bored. He soon developed a dislike for his wife, holding no love or affection toward Rhea, referring to her as his bronze bitch, a mocking reference to the ancient armour of the Royces. Rhea likewise had no love for Daemon, and they were soon estranged.”

Well, the armour certainly checks out, but other details about the character are currently under wraps. Who do you think the character from the recent leaks is? Tell us in the comments below!

Recent leaks from the set of House of The Dragon point at Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon’s wedding celebrations?

Published

Filming for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving very swiftly, as evident from the frequent leaks we’re witnessing with every passing day. Though HBO has been mum about revealing any more info about the show, these periodic leaks are causing waves of excitement amongst the fans, as they’re left wondering and speculating who’s who in the new set pictures. Here’s one of the theories we have been pondering about looking at the most recent leaks, the crew of House of The Dragon is gearing up for a tourney being held for Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon’s wedding celebrations.

Theo Nate to play Laenor Velaryon in Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon

There are plenty of factors that point towards the above conclusion. One, in the last few days, we have seen a few leaks showing a young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon taking a walk together on a beach. Two, we recently had more pictures of Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen filming on set, one in Royal costume and the newest ones in Targaryen battle gear. Props for his dragon Caraxes were not spotted as well, and since he mostly rides Caraxes for a battle, it seems more than likely that he’s donning the armour for a tourney.

Also, there were pictures of a Targaryen camp being set up, close to the place where Daemon Targaryen was spotted in costume. There are not many soldiers in the view, so it doesn’t seem to be like a preparation for war.

However, one of the flaws to the theory is that in the book, the tourney was held at King’s Landing, while all the shots above have been taken close to a beach. Tell us about your theories in the comments below!
