A popular character finally made a comeback in Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2

An ominous new poster for Game of Thrones Season 8 spells war and death

Game Of Thrones fans have been wondering since a long time about what really happened to Ghost. We last saw our favourite Direwolf way back in season 6 and since then he has been missing from the show, much to the disappointment of the fans.

It turns out including Direwolves in a scene adds to the CGI budget and since the last few seasons, the show has been focusing a lot on the Dragons and White Walkers, and that has been eating up a huge portion of the CGI budget. As a result, Ghost had to sit on the bench throughout season 7.

Ghost finally made a comeback in Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2

However, fans of the show can rejoice as Ghost made a return in the latest episode. We got to see him on the battlements of Winterfell, along with Jon, Edd and Samwell. I would’ve loved to see Ghost prominently during the episode and not just for a few seconds, sitting in a corner but I still am happy that we got to see him. We already knew that Ghost would return in this season as Joe Bauer, who’s the VFX supervisor for the show had mentioned about it.

“Oh, you’ll see him again. He has a fair amount of screen time in Season 8…He does show up.”

The Direwolves in the show are loved by the fans and they have been a part of the show since the first episode. Each of the Stark kids and Jon Snow had a Direwolf and now only 2 survive. We are not sure if we will ever get to see Arya’s Direwolf, Nymeria again in the show.

So that leaves us with Ghost and it’s good to see him back. However, it was clear that the show didn’t want to spend a considerable amount of the CGI budget on Ghost and as a result, he was sitting silently in a corner and am I the only one who thought that he looked smaller than usual?

I really hope that Ghost plays a prominent role during the Battle of Winterfell and hopefully he survives, or else we will get to see Ghost becoming a part of the Army of the Dead. It’s highly possible that Summer is also a Wight now, as he was killed by the Wights in season 6. We’ll have to wait and watch what happens in the next episode, which is going to be really epic.

Game of Thrones is over, but HBO has no plans of slowing down. Immediately after Game of Thrones ended, HBO aired a limited series called Chernobyl, which became an instant hit. Chernobyl is a mini-series about the nuclear plant disaster in the Ukrainian city of the same name, in 1986, and has been named the best ever miniseries by TV enthusiasts worldwide, except maybe in Russia. George took to Twitter to express his love for the series:

Not only did he praise the show, but also Jared Harris, whose performance in the show has been loved by the fans as much as the series itself. Needless to say, the show is expected to shine in the awards season, as Martin expects.

See Tormund and Gendry enjoy a game on Nintendo Switch in Game of Thrones behind the scenes photo

Game of Thrones had the ultimate face-off in Season 8 when the Army of the Dead faced the living folks in Winterfell. The Battle of Winterfell saw a lot of people uniting to take down the Night King, and among them were Tormund Giantsbane, and Gendry (now Baratheon). A new behind the scenes photo from the sets shows the two enjoying a nice game on a Nintendo Switch. Read on!

The picture, posted on the Game of Thrones subreddit, shows Joe Dempsie, who played Gendry, and Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane, still in their costume and the bloody makeup, just sitting down to play. Take a look:

[NO SPOILERS] Gendry and Tormund playing games in Winterfell after The Battle of Winterfell from gameofthrones

As we all know, the Battle of Winterfell sequences took a gruesome 55 nights to film, and have been described by the stars as some of the roughest times they have had filming for the show. So it’s no surprise that they would have at least some way to relax on the sets in between takes or appearances.

Nintendo consoles are also famous for being the best for the local multiplayer experience, so that’s probably why these two seem so engrossed in the game. If only we knew which game they were playing!

Take a closer look at "A Song of Ice and Fire" and "The Book of Brothers" from the Game of Thrones finale

The Game of Thrones finale was packed with a lot of things going down, but there were two very important props that we could have used a better look at – the books! “A Song of Ice and Fire” and “The Book of Brothers” made brief appearances in the finale. Now, thanks to HBO, we have a better look at both the books. Read on!

HBO’s Game of Thrones behind the scenes blog, Making Game of Thrones recently featured both the props, in a batch of photos that give you a good look at them. We saw “A Song of Ice and Fire” shown off to the small council by Samwell Tarly, who reveals that Archmaester Ebrose compiled it, with the title being his own suggestion. Take a better look at it, below:
