Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa shaves off his beard to raise environmental awareness

Game of Thrones stars are a lovable bunch on the whole, but some of them are so pure that they have made a special place for themselves in the fandom. One such actor is Jason Momoa, who played the role of Khal Drogo. Known for his legendary beard, the actor has gone on to play another great character with the same beard – Aquaman. Now, Momoa has shaved off his beard, and for a great cause, too. Read on!

Momoa did the whole shaving in a video, which is a part of his campaign. He posted the video to his social media, speaking about his new line of canned water, and how aluminum recycling can help us reduce plastic waste. Check out the video, below:

Momoa said:

“I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet, and I think I have a solution. There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminum. About 75 percent of all aluminum that’s ever been used is still in circulation today, and it’s 100 percent recyclable.”

Of course, the internet went into a frenzy following this, because Jason Momoa’s beard has its own fan following:

Well, at least he is doing it for a good cause! What do you guys think about this? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

HBO releases photos from the series finale of Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones did it again. The series finale — Season 8 episode 6, “The Iron Throne” aired today, giving the show an epic conclusion. However, there was one tiny fault. They forgot a couple of water bottle in the frame. Read on!

After the last goof where a coffee cup was spotted in the frame, leading to $2.3 billion of free advertising for Starbucks, you would think something like it wouldn’t happen again. However, in today’s episode, two water bottles managed to make its way into the scene.

Both the bottles were spotted in the Dragonpit scene, where Tyrion is brought for a trial in front of all the lords and ladies of Westeros. The first bottle seemed to find its way to this very reputable company, sneaking right next to John Bradley’s leg. Looks like Samwell Tarly was thirsty. The second water bottle was next to Liam Cunningham’s leg. He played Ser Davos on the show. Take a look:

Well, at least it wasn’t as up and front as the coffee cup. The fans still managed to spot it, as eagle-eyed as they are. HBO is yet to comment on this goof.

Did you spot the cup? Tell us in the comments, down below!

Nobody is Emotionally Ready for the Ending of Game of Thrones, Not Even Emilia Clarke!

Game of Thrones is in its final hour. The last episode of Season 8, which is also the series finale, airs in a few hours, and one of the biggest stars of the show, Emilia Clarke, took to her Instagram to say an emotional final goodbye to her character, Daenerys Targaryen. Read on!

Emilia’s performance as Daenerys has been magnificent over the years, and in the latest episode, we saw her character take the Mad Queen turn, extracting a performance from Emilia that was stellar, no matter how the episode was received. In an Instagram post, Emilia played homage to the character, and everybody involved:

Finding the words to write this post has left me overwhelmed with how much I want to say but how small words feel in comparison to what this show and Dany have meant to me. The mother of dragons chapter has taken up the whole of my adult life. This woman has taken up the whole of my heart. I’ve sweated in the blaze of dragon fire, shed many tears at those who left our family early, and wrung my brain dry trying to do Khaleesi and the masterful words, actions (and names) I was given, justice. Game of Thrones has shaped me as a woman, as an actor and as a human being. I just wish my darling dad was here now to see how far we’ve flown. But to you, dear kind magical fans, I owe you so much thanks, for your steady gaze at what we’ve made and what I’ve done with a character that was already in the hearts of many before I slipped on the platinum wig of dreams. Without you there is no us. And now our watch has ended. @gameofthrones @hbo #love #motherofdragonsoverandout

She shared a picture with all her co-stars in costume, one with the stars and the showrunners, chilling, one of her beautiful braided wig, and a selfie.

She reflected upon how the character has shaped her and thanked the fans for watching and loving her. She also wished that her father could see all that she has achieved.

Well, we’re sure he would be proud of her. Game of Thrones series finale airs in a few hours. Are you ready? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Here’s why HBO couldn’t keep Game of Thrones 100% leak-free despite so much security

game of thrones finale leaks accurate

Episode leaks, plot point leaks, images and screengrabs flying out of spoiler accounts hours before airing – Game of Thrones Season 8 has seen it all. This, despite the seemingly ironclad security measures HBO has supposedly put in place. What went wrong?

HBO’s overseas distribution structure, says this Vulture report. Simply put, it is virtually impossible to keep Game of Thrones 100% leak-free if it is to be distributed in almost all corners of the world.

HBO is a channel, and not exclusively digital content curators like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon. Their streaming service HBO Now has millions of subscribers, but to reach further shores they have to partner with third-party operators in many countries – like local cable company (Spectrum or Comcast), satellite services (DirectTV), and local/global digital content providers (Hotstar, Hulu, Amazon).

Now many of these channels that carry little or no HBO branding – and HBO isn’t involved in the distribution process through every step of the way. This is ripe territory for leaks to happen since HBO’s own security measures are not always in place. The recent leaks bear out this assertion. Both Episode 1 and 2 of Season 8 were leaked by such partner concerns of HBO – DirectTV and Amazon Prime.

So is it entirely impossible to prevent leaks like these?

season 8 game of thrones leaks hbo

Well, not exactly. HBO could have chosen a tighter distribution route by keeping it limited to their own channel, but it would have opened another can of worms which is arguably much worse for business – piracy. An HBO operative quoted in the Vulture report puts it like this: “You can say, ‘We’re gonna hold it off and not deliver it,’ but you know what’s going to happen three minutes after we start airing it here? It’s going to start getting pirated.”

Plus, that is unfair to both the global viewership of Game of Thrones and HBO partners in many countries, some of whom have had entire subscription drives based on Game of Thrones airing rights.

There is also the fact that leaks seem to have no effects whatsoever on the show’s popularity. Game of Thrones episodes, images, and plot points have been leaked online for years – but the viewership has only grown. A stray spoiler or two can definitely mar or affect the viewing experience of a fan, but it’s very unlikely to prevent them from viewing the episode itself.

HBO seems to have decided spoilers are better than piracy and let their international distribution model run as usual for Game of Thrones Season 8.
