HBO and Insight Editions will release 4 new Game of Thrones books in 2019

Game of Thrones is now less than a month away and the way insane battles have been teased, I’m getting a vibe we aren’t getting a second trailer. HBO definitely wouldn’t want to give away much of the stuff ahead of April. Though this may be a weird marketing strategy, HBO wouldn’t want fans to lose hope. This is why they recently announced Game of Thrones 2019 Publishing Program in collaboration with Insight Editions.

Some fans might wonder that this might be related to George RR Martin‘s new book in-line the Winds of Winter – the new installment to ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. So we confirm that this is a completely new set of 4 signature books by Insights Editions to commemorate the era-defining hit television series Game of Thrones.

According to Raoul Goff, founder and publisher at Insight Editions,

“We’ve been faithful fans of Game of Thrones for many years and have enjoyed a fruitful partnership with HBO for nearly just as long…We’re thrilled to be able to participate in the grand farewell of one of the greatest TV shows ever made.”

The award-winning entertainment publisher has announced four books to be included in the program include:

  1. Game of Thrones: The Storyboards by William Simpson, lead storyboard artist for Game of Thrones.
  2. The Art of Game of Thrones
  3. The Photography of Game of Thrones by Helen Sloan, the principal unit photographer for Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones fans raise more than $30000 for Emilia Clarke’s charity

Remember the petition to remake season 8 with better writers? About 1 million fans had signed it and in a recent interview, Sophie Turner even termed it as disrespectful. Now, the Reddit community, r/freefolk, that had started this petition, is once again in the news for another reason.

After everything that went down with the current season, Reddit user elle_ellaria, decided she would use the community for a better cause. She launched a fundraiser for SameYou, a charity Emilia Clarke helped develop that focuses on recovery from brain injury and stroke. In just three days, they have raised more than $30,000.

The fundraising campaign reads as “Honouring Emilia Clarke & her battle through 2 brain aneurysms to bring us Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, one of the most iconic characters in TV history. #ThankYouEmilia #WeStandByDaenerys.”

The description further mentions, “Since the tongue-in-cheek nature of that petition has flown over a lot peoples’ heads, to the point that it’s prompted backlash from some of the cast, we wanted to show that Game of Thrones fans appreciate the hard work of the incredible cast & crew despite their constraints. Any disappointment we felt with the conclusion of the series was not in them, but rather in the potential that was lost due to the rushed pace of storytelling.” It ended with a vote of thanks for all the cast members and crew of the show.

elle_ellaria, or Sarah as she wanted to be addressed as, told EW that, “We wanted to send a message that even though fans have been very vocal in their disappointment with the conclusion of the series, none of that is directed at the cast and crew — all of whom did an incredible job bringing Westeros to life.”

At the end of an interview with EW a few days back, Emilia Clarke had opened up about how much Daenerys’ character had affected her. “It’s gotten to that point now where you read [comments about] the character you [have to remind yourself], ‘They’re not talking about you, Emilia, they’re talking about the character”

Sarah spoke about this interview and showed her support for Daenerys and Emilia by saying, “At the end of the interview she walks away, but then turns back to say, ‘I stand by Daenerys. I stand by her! I can’t not.’ It was adorable. So the fundraiser [was] kind of to let her know hey, don’t worry. We stand by Daenerys, too.”

Seinfeld star Jason Alexander defends Game of Throne finale

It has been a long and arduous journey for Game of Thrones fans. The final season resulted in raging debates all over about the theories deemed forgotten. A lot of hate was directed towards the writers of the show, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Around 1 million fans signed a petition to remake the season and it invited ire from the cast members of the series.

There have been a lot of celebrities who are coming to the defence of the makers. The latest among them is a star fromof the legendary sitcom Seinfeld.

Jason Alexander who played George Constanza in the series took to Twitter to express his love for the season. He wrote, “Dear #GOT company, I know a little something about finales and disappointed fans. My advice: live in joy that you are part of something that moves people so. You were all magnificent. My family and I loved it all. Thanks.”

Seinfeld finale was also touted as a disaster by many of its fans and hence, probably Jason also went on to defend that as well.

“To be clear, I adored the Seinfeld finale. I just keep getting crap about it from fans. I loved that Jerry/Larry found an organic way to bring back all the amazing guests that enriched our show. It was an amazing week together filming it.”

Discussions ensued on both the Twitter threads about both the series making it clear once again as to how much both of them impacted the viewers.

Emilia Clarke turned down ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ because she was sick and tired of being asked about nude scenes

emilia turned down 50 shades of grey because of game of thrones experience

Emilia Clarke has already played one of the most iconic characters in film and TV history, Daenerys Targaryen. But she was very close to playing another, very different kind of iconic role – Anastasia Steele from the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. In a recent Actress Roundtable with Hollywood Reporter Emilia spoke in detail about why she turned it down. The reason, turns out, was the nudity requirement.

As Daenerys, Emilia has done nude scenes, but those were a long time ago and always in context. However, Emilia found that she was being asked about the nude scenes in interviews years after they aired, and a lot of her public image seemed to be defined by it.

In her own words, “the last time that I was naked on camera on [Game of Thrones] was a long time ago, and yet it is the only question that I ever get asked because I am a woman. And it’s annoying as hell and I’m sick and tired of it because I did it for the character — I didn’t do it so some guy could check out my tits, for God’s sake.”

Emilia felt that the media pigeonholed her in this way because she is a woman, and this was affecting her reputation as an actor. So when Fifty Shades of Grey came up, she had to say ‘no’ despite its director Sam Taylor-Johnson being a dear friend.

Emilia says, “I did a minimal amount and I’m pigeonholed for life, so me saying yes to that, where the entire thing is about sensuality and sex and being naked and all of that stuff, I was just like, “No way am I going to voluntarily walk into that situation and then never be able to look someone in the eye and be like, ‘No, you can’t keep asking me this question.’ “

Emilia is one of the many actors who have spoken up against the sexism and objectification of women in Hollywood productions in recent years. That an actor of her calibre had to turn down a project she wanted to do because of these things is just plain sad. Here’s looking at you, Hollywood!
