Bella Ramsey didn't expect fans to like Lyanna Mormont

Most fans of the Game of Thrones series really like the feisty little maiden commonly known as Lyanna Mormont, and exceptionally so because of her indomitable spirit and her fiery speeches which can bring even the dead back to life, metaphorically speaking of course.

However, the actress behind the character, Bella Ramsey was apparently quite surprised at the fact that fans really liked her character as disclosed in an interview. Apparently, the young actress doesn’t have a habit of watching shows she has helped film and doesn’t even know the results of the efforts she has put in. Furthermore, she even said that she expected the fans to dislike her character instead of adoring it.

“I was petrified when it came out, as I expecting people to hate what I’d done and not like Lyanna,” said Ramsey. “I was scared I’d be received in a bad way. I was very shocked people liked my performance.”

Lyanna Mormont is officially returning to Game of Thrones season 7!

As per the actress, she is too scared to watch herself perform and the results which it yields, which comes as quite a surprise given the talent of the young extraordinaire. She admits to being a fan of the series and to being pretty excited about the final season of the show as well, however, she says that she never watches her own scenes in the show and skips them altogether. She further revealed that she has also managed to keep in touch with a few actors from the show, Kit Harrington or the actor behind Jon Snow being one of them.

“He always said [to go to him] if I want some bad advice, but I don’t think his advice is bad!” remarks Ramsey jovially. “When I went to the Baftas I asked him about live interviews, what advice he would give, and he said, ‘just be yourself and don’t try to say what you think people want you to’. That’s the best advice you can give.”

Bella further revealed that she would rather choose to be a successful actress than a famous celebrity, which seems to be a much better and peaceful choice for the young, sensible lady. She seems to have taken Harrington’s advice to heart and doesn’t like to cater to the crowds and get involved in as much of the politics behind fame as other actors do and rather choose to follow the path of an artist instead.

“When Game Of Thrones came out lots of interviews were coming in and people asking me to do certain things which would push me out there. Like this whole Instagram and Twitter thing, getting more followers doesn’t bother me at all,’ she said, non-plussed about the whole fame game,” said young Bella. “So I held off from doing interviews because I want my life to be my own. I think we could have pushed it more and I could have been more of a celebrity, but that isn’t something I wanted to do.”

Well, now the young, talented actress knows better about how her fans perceive her and might probably be less scared about watching her own scenes as she returns in the latest upcoming final season of the epic Game of Thrones saga set to be released this April 14.

Turns out Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) didn't like the Game of Thrones ending either

Game of Thrones had been the most popular television series on the face of the Earth, but then it ended. The ending left a lot of the fans in a foul mood, with complaints of bad writing. Apparently, the fans weren’t the only people unhappy with the end. Charles Dance, who played the role of Tywin Lannister recently revealed he disliked the ending of the show, as well. Read on!

Speaking on Good Morning Britain about the series finale, the actor said:

“I was confused. I have watched as much as I can… I wanted to know what was happening to these characters…We come to the big last series, we come to the very end and I thought, ‘Hmm, OK.'”

“There’s little Arya going off on a cruise somewhere, poor Jon’s gone back up north, beyond the wall and then there is Tyrion. And all the people left alive are sort of sat around the table going, ‘So well, what are we going to do now, shall we have a cup of tea or something?’ And I thought, ‘Ah, I don’t know.'”

He also revealed that he would have loved to see Tyrion win the Game of Thrones and that it would have been a brilliant ending. Watch the video below:

Sophie Turner reveals Sansa Stark never wanted the Iron Throne

Game of Thrones has polarized the fans with its ending. Many have expressed their disappointment about Jon going North and Bran taking the throne, among other things.

It has been a roller coaster ride for everyone. Many fans, however, also reported their satisfaction about how it ended for both Arya and Sansa. Arya went on to explore West of Westeros, and Sansa became the Queen in the North after demanding that North should remain independent kingdom like it has been for thousands of years.

HBO releases photos from Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6: The Iron Throne

ET recently spoke in an exclusive chat with Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) at the press junket for her upcoming X-Men film, Dark Phoenix. Sophie revealed Sansa’s real intentions never included wanting the Iron Throne:

Since she got to King’s Landing in season one, she never wanted that Iron Throne. She never wanted to rule over that many people… I think, watching how this character finished on Game of Thrones was the most satisfying ending.”

She continued to discuss her feelings about Sansa’s journey:

I love the way that Sansa’s journey ended. I think it was kind of the one thing that she wanted throughout the whole show…to be home and to be where she felt most safe and comfortable and that’s Winterfell. She’s totally capable of leading those people.”

Her Dark Phoenix co-star Jessica Chastain also approved:

I agree with that, Queen of the North. That’s better… There’s no Iron Throne anymore, first of all… But yeah, absolutely, I’d said that to her. I said it was my favorite, her and Arya, are my favorite arcs of the series.”

What did you think of the ending? Was it a fitting finale for Sansa’s character arc? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Jorah Mormont was originally meant to survive Game of Thrones Season 8

jorah mormont was meant to survive game of thrones season 8

Jorah Mormont’s death has to be one of the most heartbreaking moments of Game of Thrones Season 8. The exiled knight died heroically, defending the woman he loved and served with all his heart. But that was not the fate the writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss originally had in mind for him. Interestingly, he was supposed to travel beyond the Wall with Jon Snow, the very man who killed his Queen Daenerys Targaryen.

Game of Thrones writer Dave Hill told Entertainment Weekly that Jorah Mormont was meant to one of the people who welcome Jon Snow at the Wall after his exile. In fact, the scene where Jon crosses the Wall to go into the Wild North was originally envisioned as Jorah, Jon, and Tormund Giantsbane coming out of the gate.

Hill says, “For a long time we wanted Ser Jorah to be there at The Wall in the end. The three coming out of the tunnel would be Jon and Jorah and Tormund. But the amount to logic we’d have to bend to get Jorah up to The Wall and get him to leave Dany’s side right before [the events in the finale] … there’s no way to do that blithely. And Jorah should have the noble death he craves defending the woman he loves.”

In any case, it would probably be too heartbreaking for Jorah to witness Daenerys’ Mad Queen turn and her final, tragic fate. Actor Iain Glen agrees: “There’s a sweetness in that because Jorah will never know what she did … It’s a blessing for him that he never found out what happened to her. And from a pragmatic story point of view, his death served a greater purpose.”

The greater purpose would be pushing Daenerys a little more towards her terrible final act – the burning of King’s Landing. Jorah was her truest friend and also the only person who could change her mind in the whole of Westeros.

In that sense, Jorah’s death was one of the three events (the other two were the deaths of Rhaegal and Missandei) that ultimately led to Daenerys’ madness, and transformed Westeros’ future in the process.
