Liam Cunningham says Game of Thrones Season 8 will make “epic seem small”

Game of Thrones Season 8 will start filming in a matter of days, says Liam Cunningham

Game of Thrones Season 8 seems just over the horizon with less than 2 months remaining for the ultimate release of the epic season. While we wait to be treated with more and more pieces of stuff like the official poster, a few official photos similar to the seventh season and of course, the official trailer which has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly’s James Hibberd to be coming out soon. Amidst the wait, hyping up the series is Liam Cunningham who recently appeared on the Late Late Show.

Liam Cunningham says Game of Thrones Season 7 will bring a lot of characters together

First up Ser Davos Seaworth, quoting HBO’s chief Richard Plepler, who had revealed to the Variety that his experience watching the six episodes was just like watching six full-length movies, said:

“We normally took about six months to shoot ten episodes, and on the six episodes we’ve done for the last season it has taken us nearly a year. So the budget, the scale, is absolutely extraordinary.”

Additionally, Liam added that it (Final Season) “will be a different style; it’ll make epic seem small.” This has me much more excited for the final season, yet we already know this via an interview Peter Dinklage where he had revealed that The Battle of the Bastards is nothing compared to the action sequences in the final season. And, this doesn’t come to a surprise to us as they’ve filmed an epic battle at Winterfell this season with continuous 55 days.

And, finally, the part of the interview which has me most excited is Liam saying deliberately or probably trying to fool us by saying he will last in the series for a long time. This happened when Liam was praised for lasting a long time in the series, to which he replied:

“so far, so far. Not that that does mean anything…We’re all gonna die, Ryan, we’re all gonna die. Don’t forget one of the phrases in the show: Valar Morghulis; all men must die.”

We as fans would definitely want the Onion Knight to last in the series until the very last. Wishful thinking can be thinking him to be playing an older version of himself in the epilogue and narrating the story to Jon and Dany’s child – yet that would be overly ‘Disney-style’! And, we can’t forget that its Game of Thrones and especially the new teaser has revealed that too. Check out the full interview here:

Jon Snow’s Direwolf, Ghost returned in the latest episode but fans weren’t thrilled

The direwolf Ghost is back in the latest episode but fans aren't thrilled

The second episode of season 8 saw the return of the good boy, the good boy being the best thing that has ever happened to Jon Snow AKA his direwolf Ghost. We last saw the direwolf in season 6 during Jon Snow’s resurrection scene. This was when he curled up, patiently waiting for Jon to stop being dead. ‘Twas a scene where a lot of boxes of tissue were passed around.

So there was rightfully a fair amount of anticipation building up to the moment when Jon and Ghost would reunite. Calling that scene in episode two a reunion would be a bit of a stretch. Fans are understandably pissed because they feel they’ve been done dirty. Which they have. I mean, look at this.

There was no build up to this scene, NOTHING. He’s just there, like an afterthought. While this scene sorely disappointed, fan reactions didn’t.

The direwolf was supposed to have some screen time back in season 7 but he finally didn’t make the cut. Turns out, CGI direwolfs are quite expensive, and with dragons hogging the limelight and the budget, there just wasn’t room for more.

So how annoyed were you with this scene in episode two? Don’t hold back, let us know how you really feel in the comments down below!

Daenerys Targaryen tries to make a friend in Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 2

Daenerys Targaryen has been seen throughout the show to be someone who can be ruthless, as well as soft towards the ones that she loves. In the latest episode, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” we kind of got to see both sides of her. Before you proceed, SPOILER ALERT! Consider yourself warned!

Since the beginning of this season, we have seen an uneasy air of tension between Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark. In episode 2, we see Jorah Mormont speak some sense into a hot-headed Daenerys, who wouldn’t listen to her usual voice of reason, Tyrion Lannister. With Jorah’s suggestion, Daenerys extends an olive branch to Sansa.

We see her tell Sansa about why they’re similar, being women that have overcome a lot of difficulties and the oppression of men. Sansa quips by saying she thinks Daenerys has manipulated Jon, to which Daenerys says she’s in the North fighting Jon’s war.

The pair seem to be getting along quite well until Sansa asks Daenerys if she’ll let the North be free, and Daenerys doesn’t seem to take well to that idea. That conversation isn’t finished, however, so looks like we might get to see it in the aftermath of the battle that’s coming to Winterfell.

Arya Stark and Gendry share a moment in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2

Arya Stark and Gendry share a moment in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2

Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 2 dropped today, and we got a lot more than expected, yet again. While the focus of this episode rotated between characters frequently, Arya Stark seemed to be getting a lot more done in this episode than most other characters. Before we proceed: SPOILER ALERT! Consider yourself warned.

Now, Arya has been in a lot of bad places throughout the course of the show, but Gendry doesn’t know this. We see Arya staring at a sweaty and hardworking Gendry as he forges weapons. The pair have a chat and Gendry tries telling Arya she should hide away rather than fight the dead. Arya, being herself, shows off her aim, proving a point.

Gendry is later seen bringing Arya the weapon she asked him to make and we see Arya showing off her archery skills as Gendry arrives. During their discussion, Gendry reveals his true parentage to Arya, and she proceeds to ask Gendry how many women he has been with and Arya and Gendry then end up having sex. The relationship between the two has been long anticipated, and the fans might have gotten more than they could imagine with this scene.

However, this was not all. We saw Arya’s aim being teased quite a lot in this episode, and then we see the weapon that Gendry gives her. Most of you might have realized this by now — this weapon looks similar to the Night King‘s spear. If you think about it, it’s quite the opposite of that, since Dragonglass kills White Walkers. It looks as if there’s a high chance that Arya throws the spear at Viserion, and kills it off, for good.
