Nikolaj Coster-Waldau talks about the hilarious prank on Kit Harrington

When Jaime Lannister isn’t playing the Game of Thrones on screen, he’s usually playing pranks on his co-stars. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the actor who plays Jaime Lannister, is quite the prankster behind the screen and he has played a lot of hilarious practical jokes on his co-stars and the team, which he’s talked about on a few interviews as well.

Discussing about an elaborate prank he played on the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, he said to Peter Travers on Popcorn With Peter Travers, “I had longer hair earlier on in the show, and there was constantly talk about, ‘Should we cut it? Shouldn’t we cut it? What’s going to happen with the hair?’ So I wrote [creators and writers Dan Weiss and David Benioff] this long letter where I pretended [to be] like a diva, saying, ‘Listen guys, I just feel as an artist I’m being left out. And I need my own integrity. I have to take control of my character. Because Jaime is a soldier, I want him to have a buzz cut, so I’m going to go ahead and do that. And I hope you respect me as an artist that I have to do this. I’ll send you a picture when it’s done.'”

And that’s not all, Nikolaj  also said that he sent the showrunners a photo of him where he was completely shaven from an old TV show that he had done back in 2009. He said, “They didn’t call me, but they called everyone else at HBO, to the top brass, and like freaking out completely. They had the hairstylist getting hold of wigs, because you can’t just make a wig in like 24 hours. “It was amazing. It was a beautiful moment. I got them. I got them really bad.”

Nikolaj then revealed that he was now always afraid that the Weiss and Benioff would get back at him for the prank since they had once previously pranked Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow on the show, by making him believe that he had to permanently wear a prosthetic grin for the next seasons. Describing it, Nikolaj said, “This was season three. He got a script, and they said he was caught up in a fire. He survives, but all his lips are melted off, so from now on all he has is just this grin on his face. And Kit believed it. He was like, ‘OK, I’m going to have to make this work. I mean, it’s all right. It’s going to look weird, though.’ And the makeup artist said, ‘We’re going to have to make this prosthetic. It’s going to be quite big. It’s going to take at least four hours to put on.’ [Harrington said], ‘Oh all right, OK. That’s great.’ But of course he walked on set, and they couldn’t – they started laughing.”

Later on he also talks about his role as Jaime Lannister is the longest he’s ever played, and how uncomfortable it was to shoot the parts where he lost his right hand.

Well, we certainly hope we get to see more of Jaime in the further seasons and don’t forget to watch Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s interview which we have shared below.

Game of Thrones star Conleth Hill was very depressed over shaving his head for playing Lord Varys

Conleth hill bald

Game of Thrones had some of the most amazing actors in its cast, and the casting was so on-point that many of the stars became synonymous with the characters they played on-screen. Conleth Hill was so fabulous in his role as Lord Varys, today we can’t even imagine anyone else playing the role of Master of Whispers so perfectly. Even though Hill gained widespread recognition for his character on Game of Thrones, he was forever unhappy about a specific feature of his role. Showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss wanted Varys to be bald, and that made Hill feel really depressed.

In James Hibberd’s novel, Fire Cannot Kill A Dragon, Conleth gave a candid interview in which he revealed shaving his head made him “very depressed.” He confessed to having some initial reluctance about playing Varys, and thought the show would be about “Dungeons and Dragons.” Although originally taping for the role as King Robert, he revealed the producers called him back to read for Lord Varys.

The actor admitted he thought it was “nice bull***t” when the producers said they would come back to him about playing King Robert. When Conleth read for the role of the Master of Whispers, they asked if he could shave his head, to which he revealed he’d never shaved his head before and stated: ”I was very depressed.”

James Hibberd’s novel has revealed various secrets about HBO’s famous fantasy epic previously, such as the show’s botched pilot episode. Do you think Varys would have looked better with silver locks? Tell us in the comments below!

Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke celebrated their Game of Thrones reunion by getting “as drunk as humanly possible”

Game of Thrones was a beautiful journey for the cast and the fans alike. It was a show like no other, breaking records and gaining unprecedented popularity. The cast made lifelong relationships with each other. Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke may have played a couple on-screen for a little time on Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen, they have been great friends behind-the-screens in real life. So we can understand their over-the-top celebration when they finally reunited after a long and busy schedule.

Both Emilia and Jason have been quite busy recently, Emilia with writing her new comic book, and Jason with his new projects such as See Season 2 and the upcoming Aquaman sequel. They were delighted to see each other when they met at Game of Thrones co-showrunner David Benioff’s birthday bash, as evident from the picture below.

The 34-year-old actress told PEOPLE Magazine that Momoa, 42, got attendees “as drunk as humanly possible” — and she savoured every single drop. “I mean, I’ve never tried so many different whiskeys in my entire life. There were a couple that was really nice, and there were a couple that was paint stripper, and I literally was like, ‘Yeah I’m gonna down you, get hair on your chest.’ It was funny.”

When Jay’s in town, you know it’s going down,” she remembered. “He walks into the room and you’re just like, ‘My man.’ It’s almost like a test, every time he sees [me] he’s like, ‘Can I still throw you around the room? Yeah I can.'”

Hannah Waddingham was scared she would start “lactating” while filming ‘Walk of Shame’ on hearing her baby cry

Pregnancy is one of the toughest periods for women. It changes their lives in a way men can’t understand. Especially for single working moms, it gets extremely horrendous. Game of Thrones and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham juggled both her work and parenting quite perfectly, but even she had her embarrassing moments. While filming the famous ‘Walk of Shame‘ scene on Game of Thrones, she could hear her 8-week old daughter cry from behind the set, and she feared she might lactate during the shoot.

Waddingham told The White Wine podcast, “So my daughter was eight weeks old when I went out there with my friend and had the really embarrassing moment of being in my wimple and nun’s habit. And I could hear my daughter crying, like, offstage, behind the building for that first part of the walk of shame.”

And I thought, oh my god, I’m going to start lactating through my [clothes]… but thankfully not!”

Waddingham also opened up about the experience of being waterboarded as part of the role on Game of Thrones.

She said, “I was at David Benioff’s birthday, and we were all discussing that because recently, it’s been spoken about in the press that I said that I was waterboarded for 10 hours and it was the worst day of my life other than childbirth.

What I actually said was, it was next to childbirth, but I would 100% do it again. Because you know that they’re not actually going to kill you.”

What do you think about Waddingham’s resilience? Talk to us in the comments below!
