Well, as we all know already, American politics is no stranger to being the butt of jokes, and the only other place with politics that are as messed up, is Westeros. Like you might have noticed, many a stars of the show are quite vocal about the political climate of the real world, and Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Arya Stark on Game of Thrones recently handed a sick burn to U.S. President Donald Trump while speaking about Game of Thrones. Read on!
Maisie recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she talked about quite a lot of things. Watch the video, below:
Maisie talked about how she knows the end of Game of Thrones, and how she’s filming long hours. On being asked about how much filming she has left to do, she said:
“A lot. Endless amounts. It’s a mammoth task this year, it’s huge.”
Kimmel asked her if that meant she was in many of the episodes:
“No! Not necessarily, because some of the episodes take a really long time to shoot.”
She then went on to talk about the multiple endings for Season 8 as HBO President Casey Bloys had said before:
“I heard this and I immediately thought, ‘I don’t think we’ve got the budget to shoot lots of different endings.'”
Kimmel responded by saying the information came from HBO President himself, to which Maisie replied:
“But as we know, sometimes presidents don’t always tell the truth.”
Well, that was a good burn. What do you think? Will Maisie make it to the end of Game of Thrones? Talk to us in the comments, below!
Kit Harington Meets Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon in a funny audition tape
Kit Harington has been too busy after finishing filming Game of Thrones Season 8 – getting rid of his Jon Snow look and even growing a moustache for his new role in Sam Shephard’s True West. But, Kit was lucky enough to meet Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon in real life. Read on.
Well, the Dreamworks Animation recently released a ‘long-lost’ audition tape of Kit Harington who got a chance to meet another dragon – Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon. This funny audition tape was meant to promote the latest movie in the franchise How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, which is releasing in 2019. Kit had voiced a character named Eret in the second movie and is said to be reprising this for the third movie of the franchise too.
The audition tape doesn’t feature much about Game of Thrones but if you are a true nerd like me, you can find a way out too. Firstly, you can hear Kit saying to Toothless:
“I’m a bit confused about my part really… I mean, first I’m dead and then I’m not. No one knows who my mother is?”
You can relate this line to Jon Snow from Game of Thrones who was first dead and now he is not and him of never knowing his parentage – which will play a huge game changer in the upcoming season.
Another call back comes from the last season when Jon met Drogon. Yet this scene was previously featured in the first film of the How To Train Your Dragon franchise where Hiccup first interacts with Toothless.
Now, that the parentage of Jon Snow has been revealed we can’t wait to get more of him interacting with a dragon – perhaps Rhaegal. Neither can we wait for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World releasing in February 2019, ahead of Game of Thrones Season 8 releasing in April 2019. Watch the video below:

Jason Momoa revives Khal Drogo and other deceased characters from Game of Thrones in his SNL Skit
Former Game of Thrones star and everyone’s favourite Jason Momoa finally had a huge gig in the latest episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Momoa not only hosted the show live as he had teased in the episode’s promo but also revived his deceased character and deceased husband of the Dragon Queen – Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. The December 8 episode of SNL had much more to see. We’ll discuss a few of them, especially as those star Jason.
Just in case the video isn’t available in your country, you can visit this site and just paste the video link to watch it.
Well, Jason created his own imagined version of the Night Lands – a place similar to heaven where the humans go once they are dead – a common Dothraki belief. He created the afterlife destination called Khal Drogo’s Ghost Dojo, where we met most of the deceased characters from the show like Joffrey Baratheon, Olenna Tyrell, and others.
The first guest of all was our favourite Hodor who still ‘hodors’ in the afterlife as well. Many conversations couldn’t happen between Drogo and Hodor obviously due to lack of communication.
Up next, was Pete Davidson who played the High Sparrow in Seasons 5 and 6 only to be wild-fired by Cersei Lannister. The High Sparrow and Drogo discussed lives while they still stayed in George RR Martin’s known world. Despite not being missed by the fans any more just like the Sand Snakes, Sparrow mocked Drogo saying, “And we both ended up in the same heaven…It almost makes you question religion!”
Upon learning that the fanatic had ruled out King Tommen and was indirectly ruling the realm, Drogo got up and offered him the Golden Crown that he had once offered to Viserys Targaryen.
The special and the funniest moment of the episode was perhaps, a conversation between Joffrey Baratheon, Olenna Tyrell, and Khal Drogo’s conversation where Joffrey proposed a duel between him and Drogo. This act ended with Joffrey learning that it was actually Olenna who had killed him. But, Olenna – like the sassy lady she was, threatened to kill him again by saying, “I’m about to kill you again, Justin Bieber!”
While the new season of Game of Thrones is about four months away – we are up for anything related to the show but yeah, a new teaser or official trailer is really worth looking forward to more.
Kristian Nairn tells investors to HODL in a new Cryptocurrency advertisement
It’s said giants are hard to get off your back. That is if you’re capable or lucky enough to get them on in the first place. Game of Thrones has turned out to be such an unparalleled phenomenon that it’s showered the cast and crew with never-like-before attention. But with great attention comes grave pretension. The show is one of those where people identify the actor with the character to an extent that it’s hard to see them in other roles.
Kristian Nairn, who played the universally loved Hodor in Game of Thrones, has held this in humor in his latest eToro advertisement for Cryptocurrency. The simple-minded stableboy of Winterfell became Bran Stark‘s legs as he carried the crippled boy on his back for the majority of the show.
His sacrificial act of holding-the-door to save Bran and Meera Reed from the Night King and the army of the dead resulted in worldwide mourning among the fans of the show.
His name, Hodor was derived from the only word that he could speak, Hodor, which was shockingly revealed to arrive from Hold-the-door and a paradox of past and present. HODL on to your seats, because on tops you might get some cryptocurrency investment tips.
eToro is a social trading and multi-asset brokerage company. It is a network of social trading with an array of investment and trading options. Cryptocurrency has been a rage in the past few years. Though an uncertain market, it has promised many a millionaire.
It broadly started in 2009, with the introduction of Bitcoin by an anonymous programmer group under the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. It was described as a ‘peer-to-peer electronic cash system’, a concept closely resembling peer-to-peer file sharing networks.
Nairn has featured in the ad which is by eToro. It starts off with the Irish actor sitting and reading a book titled, ‘How to get out of your old character.’ His agent is nearby in the same room and he calls for him to come, have a look at the offers for advertisements (which are pouring in by the way).
Kristian seems excited and looks intently towards him. The agent reads proposals, one after the other, all of them involving Kristian carrying something on his back and saying, ‘HO… .,’ until Nairn angers up to say, “Enough! No more saying that word ever again!” He immediately catches his composure and tells the agent, “I am a serious actor. I have depth. Why can’t you get me something with an office? With a tie, for example.”
The match seems set. Kristian finds an ad with the office and the tie. Ironically, he has to hodl here too, an elevator door to a bustle of office workers who are buzzing with the fear of crashing prices of Bitcoin (Cryptocurrency).
Nairn is holding the elevator door open, while people keep getting inside, constantly freaking, “Bitcoin is crashing! We have to sell!” “Bitcoin is a bubble.” Kristian is irritated yet keeps saying, ”HODL HODL… HODL”
HODL is one of the most used terms in cryptocurrency markets. In a crude sense, it means to hold on to your crypto- even when the market suggests otherwise i.e. prices for a crypto rise or plummet. It originated from a typo in an online forum for the cryptocurrency.
It’s also used as an acronym in crypto, ‘Hold On for Dear Life.’ Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency designed to work as a medium for exchange. It secures and verifies transactions as well as controls the creation of new units of any form of cryptocurrency. This is done by Cryptography, a set of encryption practices or techniques to secure communication from third parties.
The most striking feature of cryptocurrency is that it is completely decentralized, thus there are no third parties or any central controlling authority. Every participant does the job of an authority. In Bitcoin, it is done via the Blockchain, a public ledger of all the transactions that have ever happened in a network- available to everyone.
Like HODL, there are many other terms popular in the cryptocurrency circles. One of them is ‘When Lambo?’ which in a way is connected with HODL. Roughly, it means ‘When will my crypto be worth enough to buy a Lamborghini?’
Peter Saddington was the first person to buy a Lamborghini with Bitcoin. Gradually it became a deal to buy a Lamborghini to show that you’ve made a fortune in cryptocurrency. He invested in Bitcoin in 2011 and bought the Lambo in 2017. This has inspired quite a few memes.
While Kristian Nairn‘s HODL ad about addressing FUD (Fear Uncertainty Doubt) has garnered a lot of attention and views for eToro and cryptocurrency, it clearly specifies ‘HODL is not an investment advice. Your capital is at risk.’ Also, eToro has mentioned that cryptocurrencies can fluctuate widely in price and are, therefore, not appropriate for all investors. So, do your research before investing and make an informed decision.
We agree that the market is volatile. But so is life. So in times of trouble, what would you like Hodor to hold for you? Tell us in the comments.
