Game of Thrones has a lot of characters, and stars that play them well, but there are some characters that have an air of mystery surrounding them and one of them is Gendry, Robert Baratheon‘s bastard. Gendry was sent rowing back in Season 3, and hasn’t been seen ever since. He has been said to appear in Season 7, which is set to premiere in about two months. In the meantime, we have some news about Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry on the show, and it says that he has now joined the cast of the upcoming Fox TV series, Deep State. Read on!
A new report by Variety says that Joe Dempsie will be seen in the Fox series Deep State. Also joining the cast is Belgian actress Lyne Renée, along with Mark Strong and Karima McAdams. The show has now began filming in Morocco, and will move to London later in the year. The spy thriller, created by Matthew Parkhill and Simon Maxwell, will film in Europe and Africa, and is Fox’s first scripted commission in those regions. Tom Nash, Khadija Alami, Hilary Bevan Jones, Alan Greenspan, Jeff Ford, and Sara Johnson will serve as executive producers, along with creator Maxwell, who will also serve as writer. The official synopsis of the show reads as below :
“The eight-part thriller stars Strong as former spy Max Easton, who returns to the espionage game to avenge the death of his son. Dempsie will play Harry Clarke, a gifted secret agent whose moral compass proves too rigid for the kind of work he has to carry out. Renée plays Strong’s character’s second wife, an emergency room doctor, who finds her world turned upside down by Max’s return to his former life. McAdams plays a smart and uncompromising elite intelligence operative.”
The show currently holds a 2018 release date, with the exact date yet unannounced, but we expect it to be mid-2018. It looks like we will get to see Joe Dempsie on screen between Season 7 and 8 of Game of Thrones (provided Gendry survives through Season 7). Are you looking forward to catching Deep State?
