Game of Thrones is a massive franchise, and pretty much a global phenomenon by now, and as such we would be surprised if it didn’t show up at least a little in pretty everything. The latest thing to get invaded by Game of Thrones are the South Korean Presidential Elections, which, thanks to a news channel, got a pretty dope Game of Thrones themed makeover. Read on!
Now, if you aren’t aware, South Korea’s former president, Park Geun-hye, faced impeachment, and the nation recently had an election to elect the next one. Moon Jae-in, the candidate of the Democratic Party, won the elections. However, the most interesting thing to have happened during the course of the elections, is when SBS, which is a TV/Radio network from the country, gave all the presidential candidates Game of Thrones makeovers. They aired a TV spot showing all of them in Game of Thrones-eque avatars, and it was weird and amazing! Check out the video, below :
The level of detail in the spot is actually quite surprising. The spot wasn’t a half-hearted photoshop attempt at a Game of Thrones parody. The South Korean presidential candidates have been carefully and nicely inserted into scenes from the show, and the four minute video is just a fun watch.

Moon Jae-in is shown to ride a dragon like a bad-ass, too. Game of Thrones is basically about a whole lot of brutal politics, so relating it to real life politics isn’t a long walk. We would definitely like to see this theme of parody applied across all elections around. Imagine if the French, or American, or even the Indian elections got the Game of Thrones makeover. Wouldn’t that be fantastic?
