Game of Thrones does one job well : portraying relationships. Over the years, we have seen a lot of different kinds of relationships being explored, right down to twincest. However, there is one relationship that had a very well concealed drama to it, and that is the relationship between Margaery Tyrell and Cersei Lannister. Margaery, first married to Cersei’s son, Joffrey, ends up with her younger son, Tommen, after Joffrey dies, and the relationship between her and Cersei is shown to get ever-so-subtly bitchier, after that. A new YouTube video now decodes the actual meanings behind the conversations shown to have happened between the two, by giving an honest voiceover. Read on!

YouTuber Lindybeige explores the fakeness of the conversations between Margaery and Cersei in this video. The video, titled ‘Duel of the bitches – when characters say one thing and mean another’, consists of a scene from “High Sparrow”, where the two are seen passing quips at each other, right after Margaery gets married to Tommen. Watch the video, below :

Lindybeige also notes that such a scene wouldn’t be possible in a written work, and that it relied on the acting to convey the subtle bitchiness. At the end, we can clearly see that Margaery ends up pissing off Cersei, and man, oh man, did Cersei get her back for that one! ¬†The voice-over does lighten up the scene quite much, and we sure would love to see more videos from Lindybeige, covering more Game of Thrones scenes.
