Like any other huge fandom, we Game of Thrones fans have way too much time on our hands. We are constantly reporting about the creative ways Game of Thrones fans come up with, over at reddit. The latest one is about a fan-made chart that helps you keep a track of who could be Azor Ahai, taking into consideration every factor that could be a criteria. Read on!
If you don’t know, or can’t recall, Azor Ahai (a.k.a. The Prince That Was Promised) comes from a prophecy, which says that there there was a warrior, that saved the world a long time ago, and that he will be reincarnated to save the world again. Fan theories have suggested many a names for for the title, with the most supported one being Jon Snow, with a recent interpretation saying Jaime Lannister could be it. Daenerys Targayren and Tyrion Lannister are also up for the contest. This handy new chart, made by redditor Alutic, now pits all the possible candidates against each other, while helping you keep track of who has more boxes ticked, and thus has the best shot at being Azor Ahai.
Check out the chart below :
To break it down, the prophecy says that Azor Ahai is born under a ‘bleeding star’, from ‘smoke and salt’. While the name Azor Ahai hasn’t ever been mentioned in the series, Melisandre and other characters have referred to The Prince That Was Promised, a lot, and it is safe to assume at this point that the two are one and the same. Maester Aemon has said that “the dragon must have three heads,” while talking about Azor Ahai, referencing that he/she will be one of three, and also suggests that he/she will have Targaryen blood, and dragons. The prince is also said to have a song, the song of Ice and Fire. Nissa Nissa was Azor Ahai’s wife, whom he had to kill in order to forge his sword, Lightbringer, which he couldn’t forge with water, nor by sacrificing a lion. All these factors, coming from different theories referencing Azor Ahai, and the prince, have been considered in tallying up this list.
Hot Pie makes it to top five, which is remarkable. For now, it looks like the fight is tied out between Daenerys and Jon. Going forward, the chart is likely to be updated. The chart seems pretty solid to us. Can you think of any factor the chart has missed? Tell us in the comments, below!
