New fan theory about Cersei’s death suggests it might not be as simple as we think it to be

Now, by this point, we all know that Game of Thrones isn’t even remotely shy when it comes to killing off the major characters. It’s so bad that now it’s suspicious if a character lives for too long, and we start to speculate whether that character will hold the throne in the end. Talking about holding the throne, Cersei Lannister sits on the Iron Throne, as of now, and we can’t think of many people in all of the seven kingdoms, who wouldn’t want her dead.

We have previously discussed a well known theory surrounding Cersei’s death, and now a new take on the same theory suggests that we might have been looking at the most obvious interpretation. Read on!

The theory we’re talking about is the Valonqar/Mad Queen theory. Maggy the Frog tells Cersei a little something about her fate, in the books, saying :

“And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar [High Valyrian for “little brother”] shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.”

We had speculated that Cersei will go the Mad King (Aerys Targaryen) way, and destroy King’s Landing with Wildfire, which would then make Jaime Lannister, her brother, and lover, to take her life, like he took the Mad King’s. We saw the Wildfire bit come true in Season 6, and Jaime share a look with her at the end of the season, which suggested that he might have sensed the greater threat she poses to everybody. There are also speculations which say that Tyrion Lannister might be the one who kills Cersei, since he is the “little brother.” However, a redditor now says that our deductions might be a bit too obvious.

The redditor says :

“The Valonqar means “the little brother”, not Cersei’s little brother. So Cersei’s murderer could be anyone who is a little brother. But saying this in Valyrian suggests that the person will have Valyrian blood.

The Targaryens have Valyrian blood. Jon Snow is a Targaryen. He is the little brother of Rhaenys and Aegon. He wants to kill Cersei. I think it is very likely that he does.”

That actually is a very good point. Jon Snow has a lot of reasons to kill Cersei, one of which, he doesn’t even know yet. It has also been speculated quite often that Jon Snow takes the Iron Throne in the end, which won’t be so bad, considering he’s part dragon, part wolf.

What do you think? Will Jon kill Cersei? Or will it be somebody else? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
