As far as perfect casting goes, Game of Thrones has been pretty much on point. Not only is the actual cast really good, but the show also has its share of really impressive celebrity cameos. In the last six seasons, we have seen a lot of musicians make a cameo appearance on the show, and we recently reported that the latest in the line is Ed Sheeran. The musician and singer discussed some details about his role in Season 7, and more. Read on!

Talking to The Daily Star in an interview, Ed revealed the fate of his character on Game of Thrones. He said :

“I do know which role I am going to play. I don’t die in it, I don’t die.

I’m only in it for like five minutes.”

He continued :

“I’d probably prefer to have sex than die in the show. I’m sure a lot of people are into that (have sex and die) but I’m not.”

Ed went on to explain how it was his friend, Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, who was the reason for Ed ending up with a Game of Thrones cameo, having previously done one himself. Ed explained :

“My friend guested in it in 2012 and I remember I was on tour with him and he was like: ‘Right, I’ve got a guest slot on Game Of Thrones.’ I remember saying: ‘You got to get me on it at some point.’

It’s been five years so it’s finally come true.”

Ed also revealed that he filmed scenes with Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark, back in November. It has been said that the showrunners wanted to get Ed onto the show for a long time, as a gift to Maisie, because she is a big fan, but it wasn’t possible until now, because of scheduling conflicts. Well, guess we’ll finally get to see the two share a screen.

Also, Ed not dying on the show might mean that he has a recurring role, but it might also mean that he doesn’t return, there’s no saying which. We’ll just have to wait and watch what happens.
