For a show as large scale and majestic as Game of Thrones, every detail that comes out intrigues the fans and makes their anticipation worse. Recently, a reddit user posted about how the finale episode of season six will be the longest episode on Game of Thrones and this news has made the fans everywhere excited and impatient.
The tenth episode of season 6 which is also the final episode for season six which will air on Sunday, 26 June is going to be 69 minutes long and this duration will make it the longest episode in the entire series. This will also make up for the premier episode, ‘The Red Woman’, which was only 50 minutes long. But the premier episode had a lengthy ‘previously on’ part which sort of took away time from the new parts.
To have a look at the six longest episodes on Game of Thrones, the episodes are given below in the increasing order of time duration.
Season 1, Episode 1: “Winter is Coming” – 61 minutes
Season 5, Episode 10: “Mother’s Mercy” — 61 minutes
Season 3, Episode 10: “Mhysa” — 62 minutes
Season 2, Episode 10: “Valar Morghulis” — 64 minutes
Season 4, Episode 10: “The Children” — 65 minutes
Season 6, Episode 10: title unknown — 69 minutes
Thus Sunday’s episode titled ‘Oathbreaker’ on the other hand will have only 53 minutes but it will definitely keep us hooked.
Looking forward to finale already.
