Game of Throneshas had a spectacular cast over the course of the last six seasons, and not just actors, but a lot of cameos appearances, from celebrities of different kinds. Game of Thrones Season 7 will see a lot of cameos itself, including, apparently, by the rock band Bastille, and New York Mets pitcher Noah Snydergaard. Now, all those cameos leave the room open for one important one to happen: George R. R. Martin. Now it looks like the creator of the Thrones universe hasn’t yet ruled out the possibility of appearing on the show.
“Season 8 Cameo?
I’ve enjoyed spotting cameos in the show – Noah Syndergaard is the first athlete, I believe, after many musicians have appeared in the show. But I was wondering, will we ever get the cameo of all cameos – Mr. George R. R. Martin himself? I know you had a cameo in the original pilot, but were cut when HBO reshot most of the episode. I also read that you had hoped to play a casualty at the Red Wedding, but couldn’t find the time to fly to Belfast for filming.
Any chance we’ll see you in the background in Season 8? Thanks!”
Now, some of you might not know this, but George R. R. Martin had a cameo appearance in the original pilot episode for Game of Thrones, the one sent in for network approval to get the show picked up. He played an extra at the wedding of Danaerys Targaryen, and Khal Drogo. The production tried to bring him one more time, in the Season 1 finale, more specifically in the scene where Joffrey shows Sansa her father’s head on a spike.
George replied to the question saying :
“Anything is possible. I wanted to be a severed head on the wall in season one, but turns out those severed heads are expensive to make. Instead we bought a Big Box o’ Used Heads, and got in all sorts of trouble.”
While we’re on cameos, on the same thread, George also said that Barack Obama would be his dream cameo appearance for the show.
Well, we would definitely want to watch both these cameos on the show. What about you? Talk to us in the comments, below!
