Game of Thrones has had a great cast over six seasons of its existence, and it still casts actors which fit right into the quality cast that the show has. The show is all about the deaths, and as such even major characters have the actors playing them leave the show, quite regularly. These actors almost always end up working in another project which is as big as Game of Thrones. You might remember Alexander Siddig, who played Doran Martell on the show, is the latest one in this list, and he has now landed the role of Ra’s Al Ghul on the CW show, Gotham, according to a report by Deadline.
Alexander Siddig, as Doran Martell, joined Game of Thrones in Season 5 and was brutally murdered at the beginning of Season 6, by Ellaria Sand. Alexander has also been a part of a lot of other big projects, including Star Trek : Deep Space Nine.
Gotham follows the journey of a young Bruce Wayne, who will one day grow up to be Batman. Ra’s Al Ghul, who is the leader of the League of Shadows, is one of the most famous villains from the DC comics roster, having been played by Liam Neeson in the Batman Begins film, and then by Matthew Nable in the CW series, Arrow. Despite the fact that the role had been cast in the DC TV universe, it has still been recast, and we feel it might either be because of the ambiguity of the DC multiverses, or because Alexander seemed like the way to go this time around. The show is currently is on its winter break, and will return next month, which is when Alexander is supposed to appear.
Game of Thrones isn’t scheduled to return with Season 7, until summer, possibly June. In the meantime, Gotham returns on April 24, so you can maybe distract yourself with that, to help with the long wait.
