Game of Thrones has had a stellar cast over the years, and it still continues bringing in exceptional talent to the screen. The show doesn’t hold back with the deaths of major characters, and the actors who have to leave the show, almost always end up moving on to equally big projects. One of the latest actors to have gone through this, is Finn Jones, who played Loras Tyrell on the show, and has moved on to the upcoming Marvel/Netflix production, Iron Fist. He is joined by fellow Game of Thrones star, Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand), whose character on the show is still alive. In a recent interview of the pair by Collider, Finn talked about how Game of Thrones is similar to Iron Fist. Read on!
Finn said :
“We both worked on Game of Thrones… and I don’t know about you, but what I learned about being on that show, and it was an adaptation, is that it’s important to just deal with the source material that you’ve got in front of you. You know, I found reading the comic books and watching the other Netflix series is really good for getting an idea of the tone of the character in the shows. I just stayed very focused to our version of Danny Rand and what I can bring to the role, rather than emulate something that’s been before.”
Jessica agreed with him. Finn Jones also talked about another parallel between the two series :
“My shower thought of the day was that this is actually a feminist television show. The female characters in Iron Fist are incredibly strong, incredibly unique, and they really hold the men up in that world.”
Game of Thrones is currently set to have all its female leads be in very strong positions, with the way things ended at the end of Season 7, and we expect Season 7 to be the season of the ladies.
