Game of Thrones, being one of the most popular shows of all time, is no stranger to conferences and fan festivals. With the show having nearly finished filming, next season being a few months away, and George R. R. Martin working on his new book, but not nearly fast enough, us fans are left in a place without much to do. All we will have now, are cast member interviews, and appearances. The latest news about appearances, comes from the South by Southwest festival (SXSW). The Stark duo Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams will be attending the SXSW this year.
We had earlier reported about the festival having David Benioff and Dan Weiss as speakers, and now we’re hearing that Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams will join the duo for a Game of Thrones panel discussion, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly. SXSW will be held in Austin, Texas, in a few weeks, and Game of Thrones will have an even grander grandeur at the festival this year.
The exact timing for the Game of Thrones panel is set for March 12th, at 3.30 p.m. EW says that we probably won’t see any trailer for Season 7 being released for the festival. It said :
“So far, there are no official photos or trailers for the seven new episodes which will represent the hit drama’s penultimate season. While some have speculated the event might debut the eagerly anticipated trailer, we’re hearing the festival will still be a bit too early for that.”
Season 7 has been on a different schedule than the ones before, with filming being carried out in the same year as the premiere, for the first time in the history of the show. This means that the show will release trailers and posters later than it usually does, considering that the premiere of the season is also set at a later date this year, with a vague ‘summer 2017’ release.
It looks like we might have to wait a couple of months for a trailer, too. However, HBO might decide to spare us the pain and release a teaser or something in the meantime. We can only hope!
