Fan starts a GoFundMe campaign for Sophie Turner’s birthday

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular TV shows, ever, and as such, its stars share the popularity of the show. One of the most popular actors from the show, is Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show. The actress is all set to turn 21 on the 21st of February, and her fans seem to have a nice present set up for her, in the form of a GoFundMe campaign.

The fans who run the Sophie Turner fansite, SophieTurner.org, have decided to get Sophie a rather nice birthday gift. Fan Victoria Finley, had set up a campaign on GoFundMe, to support a charity that is one of Sophie’s favourite : the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an organisation focusing on helping out refugees.

Sophie has been supporting IRC for quite a while now, along with her fellow Thrones stars, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). HBO had taken supported the cause as well, offering fans a chance to win a trip to the premiere of Season 6, in exchange for donations, for which they used the hashtag #RealmToTheRescue. We think Sophie will appreciate this birthday gift from her fans.

The GoFundMe campaign page says that the donations will be accepted till the 5th of March, which is much past Sophie’s birthday. All proceeds will go to the IRC in the name of Sophie, and her fans. The initial goal has been set at $1000, but since the campaign has been covered in the news quite a lot, we expect it to raise much more.

Well, if you’re a huge Sophie Turner fan, and want to get her a gift for her 21st, this would be the way to go. You can go donate to the campaign, here. Planning on doing it? Talk to us in the comments, below!
