Game of Thrones is one of the most popular TV shows, ever, and as such, the length of its popularity has expanded to various other domains, including liquor. A lot of characters on the show are shown drinking, and as such, we would have been surprised if nobody made Game of Thrones themed alcohol. We have previously had Game of Thrones themed beers, and wine, and now we have Game of Thrones house-themed beer coming up!
Ommegang Brewery, which previously made the Game of Thrones beer, has now come up with an interesting new addition to its beer portfolio, named Bend the Knee Golden Ale. According to a report by GQ, the beverage will be a Belgian traditional ale, with added wildflower honey, and will have an ABV of 9%, putting it on the higher end of the beer spectrum. Talking about the taste of the beer, Doug Campbell, President of the Brewery Ommegang, said :
“The subtle noble and floral hop contribution adds to its delicateness, and the beer finishes smooth and dry.”
Ommegang suggests the beer be enjoyed with seafood and shellfish, roasted or grilled chicken, grilled steaks aged Swiss-style cheeses. The beer will come in three different variants, one for each major house, which means you can now choose between House Targaryen, House Stark and House Lannister.
Ommegang Brewery has brought seven different Game of Thrones themed beers to us before this release, including the Valar Morghulis, and the Valar Dohaeris.
Bend the Knee will be priced $10.99, and will be available from May. We expect the quantity to be limited, so make sure you grab one as soon as it releases.
On the other hand, Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere in summer 2017, so make sure you save the beer for when you are to watch it, because Season 7 is going to be a rough one.
