Game of Thrones Season 6 had the best of Game of Thrones till date, and the awards season is testifying for the same. The series has been getting a lot of nominations, and the latest comes from the Directors Guild of America (DGA). The DGA awards honors the best directorial achievement in television, commercials and documentaries, and this year, director Miguel Sapochnik has been nominated for “Battle of the Bastards”. Check out the full list of nominees, below :

Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series

The Duffer Brothers—Stranger Things,
“Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers”
Ryan Murphy—The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, “From the Ashes of Tragedy”
Jonathan Nolan—Westworld, “The Original”
Miguel Sapochnik—Game of Thrones, “The Battle of the Bastards”
John Singleton—The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, “The Race Card”

The DGA has written the title of the episode as “The Battle of the Bastards” instead of “Battle of the Bastards” like it should be.

This is the first time Miguel Sapochnik has bagged a nomination for a DGA award. However, he has won an Emmy award for “Battle of the Bastards” already. Sapochnik didn’t sign on for Season 7, but considering how good his Season 6 episodes were, we hope to see him back for Season 8.

The DGA awards will be held on the 4th of February at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Talk to us in the comments, below!
