The wait for Season 7 of Game of Thrones has been a long one, with the season premiering in the Summer of 2017, and filming being carried out in the same year as the airing, for the first time since the series began. Yesterday, we reported about some crew members from the costume department posting pictures of them in Iceland, which was a sort of a confirmation for us that the production is returning to Iceland for some winter filming. Now we have a further confirmation on the same. Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the show, has been spotted in Iceland, too!
The crew members had posted pictures of themselves enjoying the view near Jökulsárlón in Iceland, to Instagram, and one of them had suggested that they will be in Iceland for a couple of weeks. We had been waiting by to hear about cast members being in Iceland, and a Thrones fan ran into Kit Harington, and posted a picture to Twitter. Look at it below :

Iceland had been used as a filming location back in Seasons 2 and 3, and we weren’t sure if we would get to see it used in the series, again, but now we know for sure.
It has also been said that Iceland has been used to showcase the winter scenes with authenticity, so we are certainly looking forward to watching these scenes, more than ever.
There have been reports about a particularly ‘snowy’ scene having been filmed at the icy set at Wolf Hall Quarry, involving Kit Harington, Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Rory McCann (the Hound), Iain Glen (Jorah), not to forget the wight extras. Since Kit has been spotted in Iceland already, we might see the rest of them there, soon, as well.
We will update you on that, as it comes. Talk to us in the comments, below!
