Game of Thrones has always had a fantastic cast. Not only has it employed actors who have been big stars before the series began, it has also been the big break for several of the other actors it has employed. The production is busy filming Season 7 right now, in Spain, and we are now hearing that two Irish actors are now joining the cast of the series, according to a new report by Watchers on the Wall.
The first of the two new actors to be cast is Brendan Morrissey. Castaway Actors Agency, the Irish firm which represents Morrissey, has updated his CV on their website, to include his upcoming role in Game of Thrones.
According to the listing, Morrissey will play Fray’s Lord, and in an episode directed by Jeremy Podeswa. We do not know yet, whether the role will be a recurring one, but we certainly are curious about the character that Morrissey will be playing. It might be just another Frey Arya kills off, considering how all of them were involved in the Red Wedding. We shall see.
The second star from Ireland to join the cast is Rory Dignam.
The information was revealed by his agency, Alex Cusack Management on their website, a couple of weeks ago, saying that he had filmed for a supporting role for the show, in Spain. No more details were provided.
Other notable Irish cast members include Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos), and more. We personally just love the accent Ser Davos carries, and would love to hear more of that on the show!
