The Mountain actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson talks about how his character might die

As most of you already know, Game of Thrones is currently shooting Season 7 in Spain. The spoilers having been dropping at high density, this time around, and we have been reporting them as they come. The thing is that no matter how many spoilers and even complete plot line reveals we get, we still can never truly be sure if our favorite character(s), will survive the season. Now, in a recent interview with Express.co.uk, The Mountain himself, Game of Thrones actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, has talked about how the probable death of his character, and how he thinks it will happen.

Björnsson was asked whether he thinks that his character will survive the series.  He said :

“I have no clue at all. I think I’m going to get killed at some point. How, I don’t know. Maybe I get killed by a dragon, I’m not sure. I guess it’s going to be quite brutal, I guess I’m going to be in a big war against dragons or something like that but who knows? They don’t tell us anything. I really don’t know.”

While The Mountain doesn’t seem to have an idea of how he is going to pass, he does have his preference :

“If I die, I really hope I get killed by a dragon at least. It’s a good way to go. If the dragon is going to eat my head or something.”

Come to think of it, that would be a fantastic way to go. The Mountain’s death wish seems to match a recent Game of Thrones leak, whereby a Redditor suggested that there apparently will be a big battle in a dragonpit, with Daenerys’ dragons, and a lot of other characters, including The Mountain.

Talking about the prosthetic make-up he put on in Season 6 of Game of Thrones, Hafþór said :

“I thought I was locked in a jail and I could not move at all because it’s like you’re locked in your body. You feel very bad but it’s all worth it for 10 seconds of the show.”

Septa Unella and The Mountain return for a whacky commercial

Hafþór also recently starred in a very eye-catching commercial, titled Shame or Glory, along with his Game of Thrones co-star, Hannah Waddingham, who plays Septa Unella in the show, for SodaStream, which is a sparkling water maker running an advertising campaign against the use of plastic bottles. Talking about the commercial, he said :

“I’m just glad to be a part of it, working with a company like SodaStream, which is doing a great thing, trying to help, trying to put a message out to the people, how to protect nature or planet. Every day more than one billion plastic bottles are being used and they end up in landfills, oceans and it’s really bad for the planet.”
