Well, Jon Snow is dead, for sure. At least after the Game of Thrones season 6 premier episode, there is no doubt about him being gone for once and everyone is sad. People are sad because they are loyal to the show and the characters and when something wrong happens to the characters, they feel it but it seems there are some fans out there who have lost their minds. At the end of the day, it’s a show and people die on shows. Does that mean you send death threats to other actors for killing a character on the show? NO.
16-year old actor, Brenock O’ Connor who plays the character of Olly, delivered the final blow to Jon Snow, in the name of the watch. Brendon has been receiving death threats for that final blow.
He recently told The Argus about the threats he and his family are receiving because of Jon’s death in the show. O’ Connor said, “If you get people from Spain and Portugal and all over the world saying they are going to kill your family, you just can’t take it to heart or you would not cope. My family just thinks it is people who wanted to say something, and because of social media, you can say it to people on other side of the world. It’s laughable how people think the show is realistic enough for them to send messages like this to someone who is not the character. I find it quite funny.”
O’Connor has responded well to the entire thing but there are more genuine expectations from the Game of Thrones fandom rather than the stupid and nonsensical activity of giving death threats to an actor because another actor died on the show. We hope that common sense prevails.
