With memorable characters come memorable attributions, and Game of Thrones gave us a character we’d never forget in Hodor. And with his horrible death where we found out the entire ‘Hold the door’ scenario, it made us love the character even more. Since Hodor is now a touchy subject whenever someone yells to hold the door, we know that a door is very important when it comes to said character. Hodor died to save Bran Stark‘s life, and we couldn’t be more in awe of the brave man who gave us so much to love about him.
And actor Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on the show also seems to have realized how much difference holding a door can make. During the San Diego Comic Con Game of Thrones panel, he revealed that he had taken home a rather unusual yet completely acceptable souvenir from the sets of Game of Thrones. He said he’d taken a broken door. “I took a bit of one of the broken doors. I’m going to put it on my wall,” he said.
Though it seems quite crazy a thought to take home something that caused his character’s death, we do appreciate Kristian’s humourous take on it!
