George RR Martin the author of the epic fantasy series of A Song of Ice and Fire and the co-producer of Game of Thrones on Tuesday released a new book in the Wild Card series. The book is a new edition of ‘Wild Cards VIII: One-Eyed Jacks’ and is eighth in the series and is the first instalment of the ‘Jumper Triad’ series.

The description of the book reads:

“Something is stirring on Ellis Island, something strange and dangerous enough to subdue even the white-hot tensions between Wild Cards and naturals. The Jumpers are rising … The members of this vicious gang have the power to jump their minds into others’ bodies, use them to commit acts of terror and violence — then withdraw as quickly as they came, leaving their hapless victims to face the consequences. Not even the powerful Aces are immune to the Jumper threat. Begin a three-book struggle against the greatest enemy the Wild Cards have ever faced. Edited by George R.R. Martin. The first of the Jumper triad.”

This is an exciting news for all George fans, who like to read his other works apart from Game of Thrones as well. However, a huge number of fans would be disappointed as the last addition to A Song of Ice and Fire A Dance with Dragons’ was released back in 2011 and ‘The Winds of Winter’ as usual is still in progress and expected to be released in 2019. The books will be a bit deviated from the TV series. They will have the same A-B ending, just like Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell) suggested in a recent interview when she said that she knew the ending of Game of Thrones.

George had also recently talked about ‘Fire and Blood a Targaryen history-based book set long before the current event of Game of Thrones. Speaking about the book, he told Publisher’s Weekly:

“Obviously if you do know something about them it probably makes it a somewhat easier experience, but there’s a beginning, a middle, and an end, and you can follow it easily enough, and that’s what I’ve tried to do with my own book. It would help to have some familiarity with reading histories, and in particular, reading popular histories. And there’s an authorial voice there that I had fun trying to create, the Archmaester Gyldayn, who is an opinionated guy and has his views of these people, that definitely leak into it. In some places, he has prejudices and gripes and his own cavils, and you have to realize that you’re reading the voice of a character, even as you’re reading about other characters who existed hundreds of years before him. But that was some of the fun of it. And I think that will be some of the fun for the readers who enjoy that sort of thing.”

George had also shared an update for the same on April 25, 2018, on Twitter.
